As soon as she got home she dismissed all her handmaidens except Dorme. She sat down at her vanity to let Dorme undo her hair. "Are you doing all right Mi 'lady?", Dorme asked. Padme looked down, "I just need time...to process and it doesn't help that he's...", she trailed off wistfully. Dorme finished doing her hair, "I know Mi' lady, about...him." Padme sadly smiled at her, "Thank you Dorme, I just wish he was here now." "I'm sure he will be home soon", giving Padme a hug. Padme felt tears trickle down her face and she sat up and wiped her eyes. "If you don't need me anymore, I'll go", Dorme said getting up. "Thank you Dorme". Dorme nodded and went away.
Padme changed into more comfortable clothes and went onto the balcony. A little while later her console chimed and she hurried to it hoping it was Anakin. She felt like she had to spill out her feelings to someone. She was a bit disappointed when Bail's image popped up, but she was glad for his support. "Hello Padme, I was just checking in to make sure you were ok." "Yeah, I left work early, I didn't feel up to it." Bail nodded, "Well I'll let you go." He said good-bye and his image disappeared. Padme curled up on the couch and rested her head on the arm rest.
In a little while C-3PO came in carrying a tray of food and tea. "Would you like anything else Miss Padme?" "Yes, could you get my diary please?" C-3PO wobbled out of the room to fetch it. She decided if she couldn't tell anyone about how she felt, she might as well write it down. C-3PO came back and handed her her diary. She thanked him and dismissed the droid. She looked at her diary remembering when she and Sola had decided to each start one. She smiled at the memory and opened it up. She turned to a fresh page and started to write:
Today Onaconda Farr, was killed today in a speeder accident. He was like an uncle to me and I had such a hard time not breaking down in front of Bail and Dorme. They are both very caring and considerate, but they aren't...Anakin. I miss him so much and I wish he were here. I know I could tell him anything and he would just listen and assure me everything would be okay. I miss his touch and kind blue eyes. At night I just can't sleep well with him gone. I sometimes find myself breaking down when I think of him. I wish he would come home soon.
Padme closed her diary up and sighed. Even though she wrote out her feelings, she still didn't feel any better. She took a sip of her tea and ignored the food. She got up and walked to the balcony. She stood there and gazed at the stars, one of the favorites things her and Anakin did when they were together.
**This took so long to write! I wrote it over and over to get it right!**
