The Past

Anakin was glad he was done at the temple. They had set the date for Ashoka's trials from 2 months from then. He called Ashoka and told her the good news. After he went and picked up some dinner for he and Padme. When he got home Padme was still in their room and was looking at some old photos. "Hey there, what are you looking at?", he said sitting down next to Padme. "Just some old photos. Look at this, it's me and Sola. We were playing by the lake." Anakin smiled and gave her a hug, "You look beautiful. I brought dinner", Anakin showed her the food. "Thanks, but I'm not hungry." "Do you want to tell me about Palo?" Padme sighed, "I guess it's time to tell you." "Well then snuggle close", Anakin said pulling her close. "As long as you tell me what's been bothering you", Padme said with a little hint of slyness. "Fine, fine", rolling his eyes. "You first though." 

Padme leaned closer and closed her eyes. "Palo and I used to be really good friends. I've known him since when I was a little girl. When we got older our friendship started to turn into something more. I said to him that I didn't want to go further in our relationship and he asked why. I said I just wanted to be friends. Palo took it hard and became angry with me. Well he started to get interested with my sister, Sola. In fact they were engaged, before it happened. One night Palo was staying at our house, he and Sola were going to an art gallery the next day. Well that night he asked me where Sola was, I told him she was in her room. He politely thanked me and headed in that direction. I curious what he was doing so I followed him. He went into Sola's room and I peeked around the corner. He grabbed Sola and forced her on the bed...and-and, began to force himself on her. I went quickly to get my parents, but I couldn't find them. By the time I found them in the garden and we got back to Sola's room, she was sobbing and Palo was gone. We couldn't convict him and Sola was hurt permanently." 

Padme buried her head in Anakin's chest and sobbed. "Padme, what do you mean she was hurt permanently?" "Sola can never have children. I blame myself what happened. If I only..." "Padme, it's not your fault",  Anakin said cupping her face in his hands. "It's no one's fault." "Sola never blamed me, but I blame myself." She sobbed and Anakin held her close trying to comfort her. After awhile she looked up, "Now tell me what's bothering you." Anakin sighed. "I just want Ashoka to be safe. She won't be under my protection after she becomes a knight and I won't be there." "Ani, you have taught Ashoka so well. She'll do fine." "You're right. Padme I have an idea, why don't we go to Naboo. We can stay with your parents and see all your favorite spots." They agreed on this and planned to leave early in the morning. Anakin drew Padme near him and kissed her gently. She shifted near him and fell asleep. Anakin smiled and stroked her hair behind her ear. He gave Padme one last kiss and fell asleep.
