Sorry for the slightly long wait, but here is the next chapter!

There are only four days left until Lappland dies and she is doing absolutely nothing. Laying in the medical bed, staring into the blank white ceiling. She had been confined to this room after she had fainted the day before.

It was only a matter of time before her life passed away, and she doesn't have any plans.

Texas sat at the foot of Lappland's bed. Ever since their last conversation of Lappland's death, Texas went on leave. Everyday, every moment, every passing second, Texas sat with Lappland. Sharing every millisecond of their time together, trying to treasure what they had left.

A crew was dispatched to investigate the abandoned lab. The place where Lupos were experimenting, the place when Lupos were not violent. When they lived in harmony.

The said "cure" described by Lappland was there. Abandoned by the Newfoundland wolves, before they were all decimated. Lappland's breed, Newfoundland wolves, were known as the great scientists along with merciless killers.

It was now four days since the crew left. None have come back yet. No cure was found yet. Lappland had sent all the combinations she remembered, hoping the rocks hadn't conquered that part of her memory.

The rocks piled on top of each other in her brain, destroying memory cells slowly. All she was able to remember now were the codes, her medic's name, and Ansel. She had forgotten all her new friend's names. She forgot her parents' faces and names. She forgot who she was, except her name. She even forgot what she looked like.

Every day, every second was painful. The wrenching of the rocks in her organs, crashed and collided with each other. She was close, close enough to be a rock. Her skin, now covered mostly with stone. She no longer was able to wield her own weapon. She knew how to fight. She knew how to move. She still knew those that she practiced for many years, built like muscle memory. But almost every interaction with Texas became more dull. Her memories of previous memories were disappearing.

She clenched the blanket as Texas told her stories of her days when she joined Penguin Logistics. Sometimes, she would tell Lappland stories of when they were together. When they fought the mafia together, the day she met her new friends.

All Lappland did was appreciate Texas' presence, and the stories that were told would soon be forgotten.

Her medic, Ansel, kept feeding her meds. She gulped them down like candy, she was used to it now.

She slept for a short time. Sometimes none at all. The pain dealt was far too strong. Sometimes she tried to cry, but the stones that had grown on her cheeks made it painful to do so.

She received hugs from Texas, but now she didn't. She didn't want to get Texas infected. The rocks jutted around her. She was slowly turning.

But at the end of the day, she still loves Texas. Whispering comfort to Texas.
