Chapter 8: homecoming night

It had been a few weeks since the incident and the boys haven't spoken since then. Well that's what they'd want their old class mate and Reece's ex to believe. The team would always meet in secret everyday with Brooklyn's old master in order to get a better grip on their powers. But things came to a head one day after school in the library when Leo's was studying and the others weren't with him. Lane Atkinson then came up to him and started trying to mess with his head. "You know Reece could do better than you." Lane said smugly as he tried to sway Leo to the dark side.

"they don't need you Leo they can do better without you." Lane said as Leo then turned to lane and glared. "Nothing you say will ever make me give up trying to fight you." Leo said sternly as things almost escalated to a full blown fight between the two. What Lane said to Leo next shocked Leo to the core. "Don't you even know who their real mother is Leonardo?" Lane said curiously. "What are you talking about Lane?" Leo asked before he grabbed lane's hand and nearly threw him across the table. "wow he really didn't even think to mention his own mother or rather their own mother to you?" Lane smugly said as he almost tried to coerce Leo to fight for him. "they really don't want to know anything don't they Dante?" Lane said before giving one final remark to Leo before vanishing into thin air.

"their keeping something from you and you know it don't you Leo." Lane said before he vanished before Leo eyes. As Lane vanished Leo got his homework ready to go when he heard his mother's voice. "Honey, Honey are you sure everything's all right." Leo's mother asked before Leo jumped to his feet and then said that he was fine. As he got up to leave with his mother he then said to himself, "That's what you think Lane." His mother then asked if he said something out loud. "um no I didn't say anything out loud mom." Leo said hesitantly as they drove back home for the evening.

Later that night Leo got a phone call long after he had snuck back into the house after training. The call came from someone he really didn't expect. "hello, oh um hey I didn't think you would call after what happened between us." Leo said as he talked with the person on the other line. After almost 30 minutes on the phone Leo overheard voices on the other line. "hey is everything all right over there?" Leo asked before the voice said that everything was fine and then told Leo he'll talk to him soon. Leo then texts an unknown number about what just happened in the last few minutes.

A few minutes later the number texted: "hey that's really weird he's been gone for the last few years." As he read the text Leo started to smile knowing that whoever it was really got him. Just then Leo started to feel something really weird in his head. It was the feeling he had in his head a few days prior but different. Just then Leo's phone rang and he answered. "ow yeah what's up?" Leo said "Hey is everything all right dude?" the voice on the other line said. Just then Leo's eyes shot out a very hot laser before Leo was able to finish the shot before the beam hit a mirror. Then Leo was struck to the ground by the beam, and after he felt completely fine.

"hey Leo, Leo is everything all right are you okay?" the voice said concerned. "Yeah I'm fine totally fine?" Leo said in amazement. "Hey Talk to your sister and tell Keon that we all need to meet in private." Leo said. "Okay wait did you get another power?" Reece said. "Yeah and this one's big I'll talk to you tomorrow." Leo said as both Reece and him hang up. As Leo looked into the mirror he saw that there was burn marks on his chest where the beam hit him. "Whoa that's, how did I survive this." Leo said in shock and amazement.

The next day in a private location Leo shows the team what happened the previous night to his body. "Whoa what the hell happened last night." Keon asked Leo as he saw the burn marks on Leo's chest. "I don't know it's almost as if my body just became a shield or something." Leo said as he saw the burn marks on his body quickly heal more than usual. "So we might have an advantage over Lane?" Reece asked the team. "I guess so, but whatever happens that night don't let up from the plan, Lane might still try and find a way to turn each one of you to the dark side." Brooklyn said.
