Beth's POV
IT FELT AS IF everything and everyone around me froze for what felt like the longest seconds of my entire life. The birds stopped chirping and the soft psithurism slipped away. Everything went completely silent. But somehow, I could still hear my heart snap in half.
Thats when all hell broke lose.
I faintly remember Rick firing first, but I can't be sure. In that exact moment, nothing felt real. It was only the sounds of sobs from my sister Maggie that brought me back to reality, and confirmed my worst nightmare.
