Daddy

ONE

Madison's POV

The sound of the waves calmed me as I bathed in the sun light.

I looked up from my phone to glance at my sister and my little girl building a sand castle, a small smile made its way onto my face.

"Hey mommy" I heard her small voice "can I see the photo of daddy?" she finished as she looked up at me through her small sun glasses. I gave her a small smile and replied with a nod.

As I found the one and only picture I have of her father I found my chest tightening.

Her small figure sat beside me as I gave her my phone. "I want to meet him" her bottom lip was glued into a small pout as she spoke about her dad.

"You know that he loves you sweetie, you can meet him soon" I explain to her, wrapping my arm around her shoulders.

The truth is that Lily's dad doesn't even know she exists...

He left a few days after the night she was made and I didn't know about my little bubba until I was 3 weeks pregnant. We weren't close when we were at school; to be honest I had only spoken to him 2 times prior to that night and there was more moaning than talking going on. I was drunk and I was too mesmerised by the Jason McCann to control my hormones.

And yes, you heard right...

My baby daddy is one of the most wanted criminals in the world... Jason McCann.

You would think that I wouldn't want Lily knowing about her father but I couldn't bring myself to ignore her questions or tell her the truth. I was only 17 when I had her and I didn't know that Jason was a criminal until she was 2 and a half. It haunts me every day that I have to lie to my daughter about who her father really is. She knows his name is Jason and she knows what he looks like but other than that everything she knows about him is a lie.

I have told her that he was the perfect guy and I was madly in love but he had to move away to help his family, which isn't a complete lie, he did move to help his family with something. I'm guessing crime related.

I tell her that he loves her and that he will come home soon and we can be a family. Once she is of an age where she can handle all of the true details, I will tell her.

For now, her perception of him being her knight in shining armour is okay with me.

"Come on, time to go home sweetie" I said picking up my small child as my sister Samantha grabs the towels and her beach bag. Lily clung to my shoulders as we walked to my car.

She gets upset about her dad when she sees other little girl playing with their dad.

"How about we go out to dinner tonight? How does Taco Bell sound?" I asked her as I buckled her into her car seat.

She replied with a simple nod but I know once we get there she will instantly cheer up.

My poor baby girl... It would have killed me not growing up with my dad.

"I love Tacos!" Lily's small voice screamed as our waiter gave us our meals. Amy and I laughed as we watched her stuff her face and make a mess of herself.

"So, how is Eric?" Sam asked as she helped Lily cut her food into bite size proportion.

"He is okay, why do you ask?" I replied nervously. Eric is the guy I have been seeing for a few months. He hasn't yet met my sister or Lily but he is very keen to.

"It's just that you haven't mentioned him since her birthday two weeks ago and that's a long time for you" she said motioning to Lily and I gave her a sad smile.

"I've been pre occupied with daddy issues" I said motioning back to my daughter who was to focused on her food to listen to our conversation.

"You still haven't told him?" she asked softly "about Lily" she added.

"I don't have any way to contact him and to be honest, I don't want to" I said with a soft tone so that Lily wouldn't hear me. "he is a criminal Sam, I don't want that type of persona round my daughter"

"I agree with you one hundred percent"

I'm sorry if y'all don't like Justin Bieber but I do and I am fan girling over my own story here.
