TWO

Madison's POV

Lily and I were currently at the best ice cream shop in Cali, well we think it's the best.

Sam is on her way here now and at the moment y beautiful little girl has ice cream all over her!

"come here" I say with a small giggle as I watch Lily try to put the entire ice cream cone in her mouth. Once her small body is on my side of the booth, I grab a napkin and wipe away the mess she created.

"hey girls" I heard the familiar voice of my sister chime as herself and Tate take a seat across from us.

"Aunty Sam! Uncle Tate!" Lily gasped as she practically jumped over the table to hug her favourite and only aunty and uncle. "I missed you tatey" she cried dramatically and he just laughed and hugged her tighter.

I love the relationship my daughter has with them.

"Hello Madds" Tate said as Lily strangled his neck.

"hey Tate, Lily let go of him" I said with a smile as I reached for my daughter.

"no!" she shouted and clung to Tate tighter. "I want to stay with tatey!" she cried.

"okay, okay. I'm just going to the rest room quickly" I say as I exit my seat. I laugh at my little family as they discuss what ice cream they should get and head to the rest room.

On my way there I bump into someone's arm, "oh sorry, are you okay?" I ask quickly as I place my arm on the strange man's shoulder. His hoodie, hat and raybans hid most of his face but when he spoke I couldn't help but feel like I knew him.

"Im fine, thank you" his voice sound like it had been forced to sound lower but it did hold s similar to me.

I shrugged it off and gave him a small smile as I continued my trip to the rest room.

We spent an hour or so at the ice cream shop and after that we headed to our usual spot at the beach.

Lily hadn't let go of Tate since they arrived at the shop but thank goodness he loves her and doesn't find her annoying or else I would have to deal with a screaming toddler.

We all were playing I the water, Sam and I against Lily and Tate in a splashing war.

Obviously they were winning because we weren't going to drown my child but Tate didn't mid drowning us. Our laughter was heard around us as we splashed the salty water everywhere.

Once we all settle down Sam and I decided to tan while the others played in the water.

I had this odd feeling that someone was watching us but I shook it off after I vigorously looke around and found no one looking at us.

"Hey I have something to tell you" I heard my sister chirp happily.

"What is it?" I asked excited to hear the answer which I have been waiting for ever since Lily was born.

She went to tell me but her face suddenly fell and she looked like she was going to throw up. I gave her a curious look and then her view flashed to Tate and Lily.

I followed her gaze and looked over to the two in the water.

Tate was trying to grab Lily as she ran out of the water and in a different direction; he had a scared look on his face.

I watched my daughter run across the sand and saw her calling out to someone. I couldn't hear her small voice but I looked in the direction she was running and my heart dropped into my stomach...

Jason McCann was slowly walking towards Lily's small frame and panic struck me.

I took off from my spot and ran toward my daughter who had somehow out ran a 26 year old man. I hear her small cries after I got closer, her voice sounded so happy and desperate as she ran towards her father shouting "daddy!!!"

They were getting closer and closer and my speed kicked up again.

"LILY!" I shouted loudly as she was now only a few feet away from Jason. Both of their head snapped towards me as Lily's face filled with happiness and Jason's face held a shocked expression.

"Lily!" I gasped as I scooped her up into my arms and held her to my chest.

"Mommy, look its daddy" she sounded so happy and it broke my heart. My eyes snapped up to meet Jason's gaze and fear took over me.

He had tattoo's and scars that scattered his arms and body, I felt myself cower away as his hard stare met mine and I did the only thing my body would allow me to do... I ran.
