"I'm starting to really dislike ghosts."

The rain continued to fall down and y/n sighed as she rounded the corner. "Why the hell is it so hard to find a damn bucket?" Suddenly, she could feel a cold chill go down he spine. Her eyes narrowed while she looked around the dark hallway. "Whoever you are, I know you're in here," she yelled out as she activated her soul perception, "Show yourself."

"Heheheh we haven't had a guest in so long!" one of them said.
"And I'm itching for some action." another said with a haunting giggle. Y/n's eyes widened as three being appeared. Each had different body shapes yet all wore a tophat and a cloak of sorts.
"Who the hell are you?" y/n asked, her voice filled to the brim with hostility. It was a bit strange how she couldn't see their soul with soul perception. Soon the flaming furball came around the corner.
"What's wrong..." his eyes widened at the sight of the three apparitions, "Gyahaaaa! G-g-g-ghoooosts!"
"The people living here got scared of us and left."
"We've been wanting some new ghost friends. hehehe how about you guys?" A plumper ghost said with a grin. Y/n was quick to pat herself down in hopes of finding a weapon. She silently cursed when she found none.
"The Great and Powerful Grim ain't afraid of no ghosts. Take this!" he yelled and blue fire spewed out of his mouth, nearly hitting y/n in the process.
"Hey watch where you'r--Are you seriously firing with your eyes closed?!"
"Don't tell me what to do human!"

The ghost found high amusement in the bickering of the two and even taunted the fire child. They flew all over the place causing grim to continue shooting fire everywhere but the ghost. "Stop randomly shooting! You're gonna burn the building down." Grim continued to ignore the girl and continued. Y/n sighed in annoyance. "Listen, Grim, if you listen to me then I'll give you one-no two cans of tuna!" Grim's ears perked up at the mention of tuna. He contemplated and then ultimately gave up.
"Tell me where the ghosts are." He yelled.
"Oh your left." The fire was shot to the left. The fire hit close to the lanky one of the three ghosts.
"Oh, HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT!" Y/n manipulated her soul wavelengths to shoot a concentrated beam of electricity.
"Gah!" It hit the two other ghosts straight on.
"We're goners! Retreat!" they yelled at the same time and flew away. Grim looked shocked, "We won? I mean, of course we won!" Y/n smiled a bit at the little creature's happiness.
"Good job little one."

"Good evening. In my infinite magnanimity, I have graciously brought you a light supper." the voice of the crow man sounded from behind them, effectively scaring them. Crowley's mood instantly turned into one of shock as he saw grim. "You-you're that monster that snuck in during the entrance ceremony! I recall banishing you from school grounds! What are you doing here?" Grim seemed annoyed and he crossed his furry little arms.
"huh? I'm out here on ghost busting duty and this is the thanks I get?"
"What ever do you mean?"
Y/n then explained to the headmaster about how they encountered ghosts in the building while looking for a bucket and how they fought them off to a retreat.

"Oh, that's right. I do recall something about prankster ghosts frightening students from this dormitory. I guess that's why this building stands empty." the muttered.
"And you didn't tell me." Crowley ignored y/n's comment and continued to think out loud.
"You two worked together, to get rid of the ghost."
"Together my forked tail. [y/n: "but I hit more ghosts than you..."] I was promised tuna and I still haven't gotten paid!" Grim pointed a finger at y/n, "Don't think I forgot."
"Indeed, in that case, show me how you did it." Crowley said with his arms crossed.
"Woah woah woah, we already got rid of them ghosts and I ain't doing nothing till I get my tuna!"
"In this demonstration, I shall be the ghost. If you win, I will give you all the tuna your little stomach can handle." Crowley said to grim. 'I feel as if you're gonna forget but ok.' Crowley took out a potion and chugged that bitch and suddenly the room went bright. Once the light dimmed down, it revealed a ghostly Crowley. Grim groaned, "I don't wanna. Man this teaming up thing is a pain..." Y/n gave the 4th wall a look as she mothed the words 'I'm going to lose my shit.'

"This is your chance to show the headmaster that you deserve to be in the school." y/n tiredly said. She's had enough of this bullshit for a lifetime.
"Alright. But if I don't get my tuna I swear this building will go up in flames!"

Commence ghost battle part 2

Choco is too lazy and tired to write the fright scene when it's just reputation.

After a long and hard battle of y/n telling Grim where to shoot his fire and secretly using her ability as well, it came to a close with a tired Grim and a mentally, physically, and emotionally done y/n.

"I can't believe it. A person with the ability to command monsters," Croely mutter to himself. "I had a feeling about you, ever since that uproar during that entrance ceremony," y/n eyes widened by a fraction. 'Shit shit does he know?' "you have a natural talent for beast taming!" he said happily. Y/n let out a silent breath she didn't know she was holding.
"Um headmaster," He gave her his full attention, "Could Grim stay here with me?" Grim looked in shock.
"What? A monster?"
"If the ghost come back he can scare them off again with his fire."
Crowley hummed in thought before sighing. "I suppose so." grim got happy.
"However, I can't simply admit a student into the school much less a monster that wasn't chosen by the dark mirror." Grim was no longer happy. 'The Dark Mirror can go kiss my ass. I'm stuck here because of it.' "So much for that reward." "I'm not done," he turned to the h/c female and crossed his arms, "being as you were called here by the Dark Mirror, as its owner this school is responsible for you. For the time being, you can stay in the dormitory free of charge. All other necessities you will have to provide yourself."

Y/n could agree to that. "Seeing as you have nothing to your name...I have a proposition." Y/n couldn't help but tense. Crowley, noticing her unease, attempted to reassure her. "Don't worry. I'm not going to make you do anything weird or inappropriate. I simply ask that you do maintenance work around the campus. In exchange, you are permitted to remain on school grounds and you can research a way on returning home, as I recall you have a um *ahem* parental figure waiting for you at home. You also have the ability to study any subject you desire in the school's library but only after your work is done. Understand?"
Y/n nodded, "Understood. Grim?"
"I don't wanna be a janitor!" grim whined.
"Grim," y/n said in a firm voice.
"I wanna be a student with the fancy uniform and learn magic!"
Crowley smiled a bit, "You're welcome to reject the offer and then I shall see to you're removal."

Grim, not liking the idea of being out in the cold, was quick to accept the offer. "Marvelous! You'll start tomorrow. I'll be back to check up on you in the morning! Good night." The headmaster said with a wave as he walked out of the building.

"Come one Grim," the creature perked up at the mention of his name, "I found a room that seems at least ok to sleep safely in." Grim climbed up onto y/n's shoulder, surprising her. She was quite sure the little creature disliked her. Deep down he really doesn't Y/n made her way up to the room as quietly as she could and Grim hopped off her shoulder and onto the bed.

She slipped off her shoes and placed them near the dresser. Her beige coat was folded and draped over the green chair. Her glasses/goggles came off and were laid on the small table near the chair. Her hair [came out of its style/put into a protective style (braids, buns, etc.)/ became a bit tussled]. She made her screw appear and loosened it to its default placement.

She gently laided herself near a sleeping grim and simply stared out the window. The sight of the twinkling stars and the bright nonsmiling moon painfully reminded her that she was no longer home.

She was no longer with her friends.

No longer with her father.

In a way, she was

alone.

Y/n sighed and wiped her eyes to remove any glossing. She could slowly feel sleeping coming to greet her, though she would normally have trouble sleeping.

"I promise I'll find a way out of here and come back home. Until then, be safe. Who knows what will happen."
