Clary's POV
My head was pounding by the time I was walking by a glamoured house. It was nice, it was a bit smaller then mine but it was still nice for some Shadowhunters. I continued to walk, the whole point of this walk was to clear head and not think of anything. I decided to not hunt any demons tonight, only if I run into one. The pine call I got from my father kept flashing in my mind. Jonathan was alive. My own mother has the cup hidden somewhere. It makes sense she would have it. She was once my fathers wife before she abandoned us for a dog. A very very small part of me was happy she move on and another was discussed it was a downworlder. Was it weird to have two different opinions? I have no problem with Simon being a Vampire or a downworlder, he's different. Well I don't know about different, Luke didn't want to get turned just like Simon. Maybe it's just the nonsense that Valentine has filled In my head about him. About him not killing himself when he got the chance. And Simon is like the friend I never had. Every guy I met only wants to get inside my pants. But him, he's almost like a normal brother. Without Demon blood, not evil. Somewhat normal, well as normal as you can get when your a vampire. By the angel Clary, this walk was sappost to clear your head! I silently yelled at myself. Deep in thought I didn't notice I was watching my shoes as I walked. I wasn't even watching where I was going, it could have been hours. Well that was until I ran into someone. I stumbled back and put an annoyed look on my face. "Maybe next time you should look where your going." I hissed. A boy stood in front of me. I came up to his nose. He had big dark eyes and thick black curls. He wore a somewhat dirty blue jeans and a see through white t-shirt, allowing me to see he six pack. Not bad. He was also deathly pale, he looked like he hadn't seen the sunshine in ages. "I was watching, you just so happened to walk right into me. Now, what is such a fine lady like you doing around here? It's very dangerous to be alone around here." He questioned raising an eyebrow. I looked around in confusing, I realized that I was standing beside The Hotel Dumort. Where the New York Vampire Clan live. The ones who are not a day lighter. Very few vampires can go in daylight, Simon is an exsample. About 12 of them go to our school, day lighters. I looked back up at the person in front of me. He was cute, for a vampire, and young but you could tell he walked this earth for ages. "I know how dangerous it is to be here. Not everybody has been living in the dark." I snarled. He was taken aback. He didn't realize I was from the Shadow world. Thankfully I threw my jacket on before coming out here, it covered up my runes. "Well well well, who might you be?" He asked me quietly. There was a hidden question in hi words. 'What are you?' I smirked, in amusement. "Clary Frey, greatest Shadowhunter this world has ever seen. Now who might you be, Vampire?" He thought for a second, as if thinking I wasn't someone to trust with his name. I wasn't someone to trust.... Respect. "Raphael, second in command. Now little Shadowhunter what brings you here?" He said as he took in every angle of me. Right down to business eh? "Just went for a walk, you see I'm new to this city. So I don't know it like the back if my hand yet." By the angel, the best Shadowhunter alive gets lost in a new town. I can see the headline now. "I can help you get back home, since your new to Brooklyn and all. You see u heard about you. Word travels fast about the new hot Shadowhunter who got both of the biggest trouble makers into trouble." He slung he arm around my shoulders as I grinned. It's only one day and I already got a title. " where do you live Clary?" Raphael asked, without missing a beat I answered. "Street of Glass." It was funny how we had a city of Glass an now I live on Glass street. Aha if only the mundanes knew. "Look Raphael I was wondering if I could ask you some questions-" I trailed off as I seen numbers I people rush in and out of a small bluer house. They weren't Mundanes either. They were Shadowhunters, no why is so big that the Clave is here? Before I could even take one step in their direction, Raphael dragged me away. "Their looking for me, and I am in no mood to talk to them yet. And yes." We turned a corner, the blue house and Shadowhunters now out of sight. I get he didn't want to talk to then but. " what do you mean "and yes?."" He let out a low chuckle as we continued to walk. Millions of stars were out at the moment, they were so huge I felt like I could reach out and grab one. Was it like this very night here? "Yes you can ask me your questions." He whispered in my ear. I smiled but avoided eye contact. I regret what I was going to say already. "Where does Jocelyn Fairchild live?" At my words Raphael froze mud step.
