Elizabeth's pov
Trying to sleep those past couple of days were awful. My head ached when I tried to lay down, no matter what position I was in.
Colby wasn't doing any better, being that he was a stomach sleeper and was forced to be on his back.
He found a solution to it though, by putting another pillow underneath his back so it wouldn't be as uncomfortable.
I tried to limit the amount of ibuprofen or other head medications I took, due to being a recovering addict.
Colby knew that, and I even took the extreme to only take one pill and just sleep with an ice pack on my head.
It hardly did anything, but it did enough that I was able to sleep.
The way my head pounded when I woke up was enough to send me straight to the bathroom to puke my guts out. It made my entire body ache after a while, and I even started sleeping on Colby's couch so the armrest would keep my head up.
Which only led to neck pain, and more puking.
By around noon, the only thing that would hurt was my head or neck, give or take the day.
Now, I had to force Colby to pack for Australia. It was quite entertaining, having him running around and giving excuses as to why he can't pack.
"We still have time!" He shouted from downstairs, where he was underneath the balcony by the front door.
I tangled my fingers into the detailed fence that kept me from jumping off and falling to the first floor to drag him upstairs, "You're leaving in three days!"
"Four!" He corrected, putting his hands on his hips. He was very close to laughing, I could tell. But he masked it well, with his eyebrows furrowed and mouth scrunched like he was upset.
"You're gonna spend the fourth flying! Three days! Pack!" I hollered, throwing my arms in the air.
"Colby, listen to your mom!" Corey shouted from somewhere downstairs, causing me to lean over the railing and shout, "Fuck you Corey!"
The door opened behind Colby, revealing Sam and Kat as they walked in with groceries. I waved down at them, and Sam observed the scene with a smile, "God dangit, this is still going on?"
"He won't fucking pack! I guess he doesn't want to go that bad!" I shrugged down at them.
"Why don't you just pack for me?" He asked, and I chuckled mischeviously. "Oh fuck, never mind. I'll do it," He screamed hastily, running for the stairs.
Obviously a challenge, I ran down the hallway and slid into Colby's room, diving for his closet.
It was a tiny walk-in closet, with plenty of stuff that would be great for Australia.
I ripped open the first suitcase I saw, throwing a variety of random clothes in it.
I could get the body part of his Elmo costume to fit, but not the head which was rather disappointing. I heard him thundering up the stairs by the time I started throwing thongs in the suitcase, a couple that Devyn bought me as a joke.
I zipped it up, standing it up and running it to the door, closing it in front of me while Colby barreled into it from the other side.
"Ow bitch," He growled, sounding more playful than upset as he managed to push the door, sliding me backwards.
"Take it! I packed for you!" I said, loosening up on my losing battle of keeping the door shut.
I handed him the elmo head, causing him to look down at the suitcase, "What the hell did you put in here?"
"You didn't want to pack, so I did it for you. Go ahead, take a look, I'm sure the fans will love what your Australian wardrobe will look like,"
He sat on the floor, unzipping the suitcase. I sat on the opposite side of the suitcase so I could watch his reactions to pulling stuff out.
"What even is this?" He asked, pulling out my neon pink thong, "Babe, I could not fit my left nut into this to save my life," Colby said, looking at me with raised eyebrows.
"I guess you better start dieting," I shrugged, "Or get some smaller balls,"
"Is that the rest of the elmo costume?" He asked, pointing at the red fluffy piece.
"Yes," I said as he picked up another thong, throwing it on Elmo's head. I did put a couple pairs of his shorts in there, just to be considerate of his hairy legs.
He lifted up the coconut bra, "Did you steal this off of Kevin Jonas?" Colby asked, referring to their mannequin with Kevin's face taped to it.
"It was in your closet, dude," I shrugged, "So you stole it,"
"Do you realize I'm going to freeze in Australia? It's supposed to rain the entire time we're there," He informed me, like I didn't already know.
"Yes, did you see what else I put in there?" I said, picking up my winter coat that I shoved at the bottom. "Aw thanks. So nice of you," He said sarcastically, setting it to the side.
"That's it?" He asked, looking at the almost empty suitcase.
"I put the socks in Elmo's head. Feet are gross," I said, lifting up the head to watch as a few pairs of socks fell out of it, "Nice to see you've learned to wear socks," I noticed, nodding down to his feet.
"I gotta do what I gotta do," He shrugged, standing up and throwing the suitcase on the couch as he started digging through his clean laundry baskets.
Even though we were having fun now, this would be the first time we've ever truly been apart, and that scares me.
What if he finds someone better and brings them back, or better yet, stays there?
What if he came home and realized that he didn't want me anymore, and that he was perfectly fine without me?
I watched as Colby pulled out pants and hoodies, setting some on his bed while throwing others back in the basket. He seemed pretty content with packing, fine with leaving me.
What scares me the most is that I might feel all the thoughts I'm thinking will affect Colby. That I'd be fine without him, that I'd be better off alone, even.
Can that happen?
