Elizabeth's pov
That's it, today's the day.
Dread filled my stomach when I opened my eyes, and a dull pain filled my head. I slept in the bed with Colby last night for our last night together for a while.
Urgency and a little bit of panic made me sit up, hardly having time to throw one of Colby's shirts over my bare body and stumble into the bathroom, puking into the toilet.
I gave myself a couple of seconds, checking to see if I would have round two with my puking fiasco.
Luckily, I didn't feel anything else as I stood up, flushing the toilet and brushing my teeth.
"Fuck you," I whispered to my appearance in the mirror.
I was a mess, my hair looking like unbrushed raccoon fur and my eyes looking like I was posing as one.
I must have woken Colby up at some point, because I was just spitting out mouthwash as he trudged into the bathroom.
"Again?" He asked, rubbing his eyes. I tried my best not to stare at his body, hardly more covered than my own, so I stared at my reflection.
"Yeah, it wasn't so bad though," I said before wiping my face.
He came up to me, wrapping his arms around my body and kissing my head. I wiggled my arms out of his grasp, setting the cloth down before folding my hands behind his neck.
"Are you sure you're alright?" He asked and I nodded instantly.
He studied me, and I could tell he couldn't quite believe me. But he let it go, "Okay, but if this gets any worse while I'm gone, just call me,"
"How far is the time difference?" I asked, resting my cheek on his bare chest as I moved my hands to behind his back.
"Thirteen hours," He reminded, "I'll call you every day, if you want,"
"Whenever you miss me, I'm a phone call away," I sighed, "When are you leaving?"
"I should probably get ready soon. We're leaving trying to get to the airport for eight," Colby explained, slowly letting me go.
My eyebrows furrowed, "What time is it now?" I asked, slipping past him to walk into his room.
"Probably close to five," He guessed, following me from a distance.
I bent down to grab my phone off of his nightstand to see that he was right, almost five in the morning.
"Nice ass," He joked, and I felt my cheeks burn as I looked at him, rolling my eyes, "I was more concerned about making it to the toilet, not really about whether or not I was wearing underwear,"
"I'm not complaining," He said, holding his hands up in defense, "It'll be a while before I can see it again,"
"You got to see plenty of it last night," I pointed out, "Now can we stop talking about my ass?"
"Whatever you want," Colby smiled, pulling his computer off of the desk and slipping it into a bookbag.
"Is Elton taking you guys to the airport?" I asked. The original plan was for Colby to go, for Amanda to drive Elton and for me to drive Corey, Sam and Colby in Colby's car.
"Amanda is still taking them. Could we take your car?" He asked, patting down my hoodie for the keys.
"Sure," My car was a five seated, white Jeep. Nothing special, though it looks fancy with its completely tinted windows, "Just give me those and I'll pull it up," I said as Colby tossed my keys.
"I'll be right back," I promised, slipping on a pair of sweatpants and a hoodie before leaving Colby's room.
The house was nearly silent, besides footsteps in Corey's room and soft mumbling in Sam's.
Everyone was antsy, anticipating the boys' departure.
I didn't want Colby to go, but I'm happy he's able to go and film in places other than his garage or living room.
I needed to pack my own stuff, get it out of Colby's room. I'd bring different things back when they come home, whenever someone drops them off from the airport.
I slipped on my dirty purple crocs, leaving through the front door and walking out of the gate. They were working on a new house next door, and there was a condo behind it.
Easy access to my own house, easier than falling over a fence.
I went along undisturbed, besides some random little dog barking at me on a leash. He was a cute little brown thing, and couldn't have been bigger than a newborn baby.
I slipped in between the condo and the fence that lined my backyard, walking around and to the front entranceway.
When I unlocked and opened the door, a bit of sadness pricked at me.
I loved this house, I loved what my father gave to me to live and grow with no unnecessary expenses.
I missed being here, and being here for the next couple of weeks would make up for my absence.
I realized I didn't need to go in here, and that I only needed my car, so I locked up the house and went back out to my driveway.
I unlocked the car, hopping in. This was one of the first times I've driven since the accident, and I had nerves like I had when I was first learning how to drive.
Luckily, there were hardly any cars out. I knew that'd be different once I'd be driving more than a block, but I tried my best not to think about it.
I truly wasn't excited to drive to the airport. Being alone while driving is going to be a whole different battle, and that was something that I would have to deal with.
I pulled around, and back through the gate after putting in the code. I parked alongside the shrubbery in between the gates since it'd be easier to pull out.
Colby's rental was a light blue Toyota, almost a smaller version than my own car. He talked about getting a truck, a bigger car, or even just another red Toyota Corolla.
But if he was to get another Pussy Magnent, I know it'd drive us both insane. Insanity driven by tension, fear, and memories.
I can only hope he was joking about it.
He wouldn't jeopardize us, right?
