Chapter 5 ~ Food is the Enemy

This is a really short chapter compared to the others i've done so far but its still over 1200 words which is a lot for me. 

Now on with the story.

⭐Marinette⭐

This morning I felt so faint, I can't remember the last time I ate a problem now. I've had a small apple every now and then or something like that, just so I don't pass out or anything like that.

This morning was different though, since I didn't realise how early I had actually woken up. I got already for school like I normally do, I put my clothes on, did my hair and applied make up to hide the bags under my eyes and any bruises that were showing. When I went downstairs that's when I realised how early I had woken up, since my parents were preparing breakfast. My parents generally make quite big meals for breakfast, so as much as I loved spending time with them I didn't particularly enjoy having breakfast with them. Fortunately, the breakfast that they would make was always healthy, so it wasn't all that bad. I didn't want to be a burden to my parents so I always make sure that when I eat around them (which is not very often), I make sure to have a meal, I always make sure that it's small but not small enough for them to notice. Whenever I do eat breakfast with them I just have to keep telling myself at least it's healthy, so that I can force it down. I do often throw up afterwards though. Surprisingly today I didn't, it was probably because my body needed the fuel.

Getting to school early today was kind of nice, pretty much everyone was in the classroom already. Chloe was in a corner gossiping to Sabrina about something, thankfully she didn't notice me. Max was working on something on his laptop. Nathaniel was obviously drawing. Nino was showing Adrien something on his phone. Rose and Juleka were smiling and talking. Mylene and Ivan were being the cute couple they are. Then all of a sudden all I could hear was Alix and Kim arguing about who won the bet they had. Was I surprised? No, I was not. They do this every day, even in the middle of class sometimes. Occasionally it's actually quite funny, especially the look on his face when he realises that he lost.

'hold up. Where's Felix'

Just as that thought came into my mind he came in and went straight to the spot, next to me.

'lol, I made him appear with my mind'

When he got seated he got out his computer and started doing something on it. I just rolled my eyes.

'same procedure as every day'

If you know where this reference is from I officially would like to call you my new best friend, the original line is "same procedure as every year James", just in case you can't exactly remember.

He was always on one of his devices or had his nose in a book studying. Like seriously dude don't you anything fun. I was however very grateful that he didn't mention yesterday's events.

The teacher came in not too long after I got there. When she came in she looked at me a bit surprised and then smiled, she was definitely happy that I was actually on time this morning.

⌛⌛⌛

Finally it was lunch. Class gets boring very quickly since I find it quite easy.

I manage to avoid Chloe when going to the library. I know it's kind of sad but that was definitely the highlight of my day.

I sat down in my usual spot and of course, just my luck, Felix comes over and sits next to me. I quickly grab my stuff and try to leave. Unfortunately he was able to quickly grab my wrist to stop me. I winced in pain, I had a bruise right where he grabbed me.

"Wait"

⭐Felix⭐

I quickly grabbed her wrist so she wouldn't run away from me, she winced and I immediately felt bad for how hard I had grabbed her. As soon as I wrapped my fingers around her wrist however, it just reminded me of how bad it truly was. It felt like I was only holding onto her bone and that was even with the hoodie that she had on.

"Wait" I spoke to her softly, like I do with Everly.

I let go of her wrist gently.

"Are you ok?" I asked genuinely, why I asked that, I have no fucking clue. I knew that most definitely she was not okay.

"Why do you care?" She was clearly not happy that I was talking to her.

I looked down at the floor feeling a little guilty, "Because-" I stopped talking when I looked up, she was already exiting the library.

'can this girl teleport or something'

She gets from one place to another so quickly, what the fuck.

I don't know what to do now. She clearly needs a friend who knows about what's going on, to help her through it. She'd never let that friend be me and honestly, I don't exactly want it to be me either. Before I found out about what's going on with her, she was nothing but a pain in my ass. I honestly kind of liked it that way since she is the only girl in the entire school who didn't like me and that was quite refreshing. I can't exactly tell anyone either, I would only ever do that with her permission (I'm not that cruel). For a second I thought maybe I could talk to Everly about it since she doesn't know Marinette but then I thought about it more and I didn't want to bring up any trauma.

I soon realised it was almost the end of lunch, so I packed up and left for class. When I turned the corner coming out of the library, Marinette ran into me once again. She fell backwards and luckily I caught her and pulled her close to my chest, if I hadn't of caught her she would have fallen down the stairs. She looked up at me with fear in her eyes but there was also a hint of gratitude in them. To anyone not knowing what the situation was it probably would've looked like we were a couple.

'why the actual fuck am I so fucking clumsy'

I seriously almost just died because of my clumsiness.

⌛⌛⌛

The next day at school I was early again since I couldn't sleep what so ever. When I walked in all I could see and hear were students gossiping with each other about something. Some people saw me and then everyone went silent for a second, the gossiping picked up again, this time more intensely. I walked through the corridors to class trying to tune out all the noise but the more I walked the more I heard my name being said by multiple people, I also got a shit ton of dirty looks. Then it hit me, I knew what they were talking about. Only one person knew one of my secrets, and that was nonother than FELIX.

I stormed towards the library, knowing I would find him there, angry tears started filling up my eyes. And there he was, sitting on his laptop with a blank expression on his face.

I went up to him making sure that he knew I was there. He turned towards me and then I just started screaming "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!" the tears were now streaming down my face. I was so angry.
