Nami's eyes fluttered from both the rays of sun cascading through her window and a wonderful smell filling the air. Her snout twitched as she sniffed. She propped herself onto her elbows, rubbed at her eyes while her tail curled and stretched. Her wings shivered and with a single yawn, Nami was finally awake.

The mattress felt far more soft than her homemade bed in her den. His clothes were far too big for her. The left long sleeve slipped off her shoulder, and she had to knot his sweats, though they probably wouldn't have fallen past her thighs where they were tightest. "I go to drop off a borrowed coat and then I borrow more clothes," she whispered to herself and shrugged. She'd change before she left at least.

Her snout wiggled again. She was certain of it. Bacon. That was most definitely bacon. With a smile, Nami hopped off the bed and left the room. She found her way back to the living room where she saw towels on the floor and couch. A blush flourished along her cheeks. Heart jumped a beat. Eyes trailed away from the spot as speedily as possible and landed back on the wolf anthro cooking up a meal.

"Oh?" she cooed and walked into the kitchen. "Trying to get on my good side now?"

Kyne's ears twitched and he turned his body enough to see Nami approaching. With a laugh, he responded, "I already curried favor when I made you feel good three times last night. Or, am I mistaken?"

"Most definitely." She raised her snout then rolled her eyes. "Because then you made me stay in that awful position for forty minutes."

His ears promptly fell and with the quietest mutter said, "Well you kept moving and it made it take longer."

"Hm? What was that? You're sorry?"

"Oh well," he flipped some bacon and then pivoted himself to flip some french toast too. "I didn't plan to eat all this delicious food myself, but I can."

"Ah," she pointed at herself, "I'm sorry. got it."

A single huff of a laugh escaped Kyne's mouth while he gestured at cabinets adjacent to him. "Mind setting the table? Dishes are in there, silverware below it. Syrup and other things are in the pantry and fridge, pick and choose what you like."

Odd. This was all odd. This was probably the one thing he got wrong. All that studying on her species and now they were sitting to eat an actual meal together. These mating battles were often, if not always, between rivals. Two dragons with territories neighboring each other. Sometimes one side wants more land, sometimes they are just frustrated by the land near theirs. It is a series of butting heads until one offers the battle and the other caves. There were no meals. There was no peace. Kyne mentioned that the mating battles were put in place to create bonds, but she severely doubted it ever worked. She could only assume that it was due to his pack mentality that he wasn't the same.

"Speaking of which," she said aloud and placed down two cups and plates on the table. "Are you a part of a pack?"

Kyne had begun putting the food on serving platters and stood a moment, a tad dumbfounded on where she brought that topic from. "Yes and no? My pack is just my family or close friends. I moved away from both a few years back." He brought the platter over. "Modern times doesn't demand packs stay together anymore. It is just a word now used to emulate closeness between people. We don't need to go hunting or surviving."

"Speak for yourself." Nami sat down and placed food on her plate. "I only come to the mainland to visit friends I've made, otherwise I still hunt for my food and live in the wilderness. Modern times doesn't mean you have to live modern."

"I'm aware, but for me and my upbringing, I wouldn't be all too keen on setting home in the forest. I'm amazed at how you manage to live in your territory, but honestly more inclined to ask how you made friends here to begin with." Kyne hadn't yet taken food, rather he watched Nami. She knew how to use a fork. She knew that powdered sugar could go on the french toast, along with some syrup. She knew how to dine on the mainland, so she had to learn it from someone.
