Chapter 11: Flour Kiss

I woke up around nine in the morning. It was weird because it was Zach and Zayn's birthday today. They would usually make noises to wake me up and tell me I was their slave for the day.

I tied my hair and went out to check their rooms. I was still wearing my pink cycling shorts and a huge shirt that says #sleep all day. I walked into their room and it smelled. Clothes were everywhere and the boys were no where to be found.

I went downstairs to eat breakfast when I saw a note on the counter top.

Morning!
I prepared ingredients for you to make a cake for the twins. Also, icing is in the fridge. Happy BAKING!

Love, Dad

I grabbed bowls, pans and wooden spoons. I preheated the oven when the doorbell rang.  I was hoping it was not Dad yet.

I opened the front door and it was Connor. The moment I saw his ridiculous face, I slammed the door.

"Ouch!" His foot was stopping the door from closing.

"Just go. I don't need you to ruin this fantastic day." I groaned.

"Please." He begged.

"No. I'm busy. It's the twins birthday and I have to make a cake before they get home."

"I can help."

"Don't need it."

"I'll be your taste tester."

"Seriously?"

"Come on."

"Just please leave."

"No."

"Why do you have to be so annoying!"

"Please I'll leave right after making the cake."

"Right after?"

"Yeah."

"Fine." I gave in.

I let him enter and dragged him to the kitchen so he doesn't have to stay long. I was mixing butter and sugar. He was just staring. Then, I cracked the eggs and mixed them in the bowl. He was still staring. I added the flavoring and started mixing again. He was still staring.

"Are you just going to keep staring at me?" I asked raising a brow.

"I was just thinking about what you told me last night." He answered choosing his words carefully.

"Which part?"

"Two faced."

"Oh."

"I think what I'm trying to say is that I agree. I do tend to change my attitude depending on who I'm with."

"Good." I said not really sure what to say.

I continued mixing and eventually poured the batter into the pan. I made sure that it was flat. Then, I put the pan in the oven.

Waiting for the cake to bake was awkward. We didn't talk at all. Not a single word.  We were both staring at the timer to ring.

"I like the cali girls, party girls, when they look at me. Not so hard to see. Keep you up at night." He started singing. I kept laughing the moment he started to sing. It was weird seeing Connor copy Ross Lynch from R5.

My stomach was pleading me to stop laughing.  I almost fell off my chair when the timer rang.

I rushed to get the cake and tried hard not to laugh and topple the cake. Thankfully, Connor stopped dancing and singing since he was horrible.
