"First, Pepper doesn't like guys who think they could get any girl." I told him feeling like a teacher.

"I don't think. I'm sure I'll get her."  He smirked.

"And yet you are here asking for advice." I countered.

"Yeah, yeah."

"Two," I continued, "She doesn't like the kind of guys who think they're tuff. She likes the muscle and all, but she wants a sweet guy at the same time."

"I really think you're just describing me. I'm basically everything your saying."

"Ha-ha. Very funny."

We were at the dining table eating the gumbo that dad made. Zach, Zayn, and Connor were talking about the football team this year.

"I hear that the defense is really strong." Zach says.

"Yeah, as well as offense." Zayn chirps in.

Both my brothers were football legends in Cornwall High School. They won against Admont High School, our biggest competition, which gave Cornwall money to help improve the varsity teams.

"Yes, but I'm a little worried with Admont High School. It seems like they have good offense and defense and a great quarterback." Connor says.

I asked, "They have a new quarterback?"

"Yeah. He's a senior. He got a football scholarship there." Connor replies.

"Who is he?" Zayn wonders.

"Tom Dare." Connor says.

Zach choked on his dinner then said, "Dare? As in the Dare?"

"What do you mean?" I asked not knowing what they were fussing about.

"Michael Dare is one of the greatest football legends. He has a son named Tom Dare." Zayn explained.

"And he's the quarterback? " I questioned with my eyes bulging out.

"Yep." Zach said with a down face.

Pepper came rushing to me the following morning at school. She looked flawless as ever while I looked like a zombie.

"Hey. Guess who just texted me?!?!" She screamed.

"Umm...Connor?" I replied emphasizing I'm not interested.

"How'd you know??"

"I'm his tutor remember?"

"Oh."

"Anyway, what did he say?"

"He asked me if I wanted to watch them practice then hang out after."

"Hangout?"

"Yeah. I think it means a date."

I felt a tap on my shoulder and I  turned around to see it was Connor.

"Connor!" Pep greeted.

"Hey, Pepper." He stuttered.

"So, what are you doing here?" Pepper asked with twinkling eyes.

"I actually came here to talk to you." He pointed at me.

I said shocked, " me?"

"Yes. I can't come on our Friday tutor."

"That's fine.  I have to go somewhere too."

It was a rainy Thursday night and I was laying on my bed and cuddling with Cheetos, my huge Labrador, when I received a text from Connor.

Open your window. NOW!!

I got up and did what the text said.  "Connor! What the heck?!?!"

"Can I come in? I'm freezing cold in the rain here!" Connor said while his teeth chattered.

"Y-Yes. Sure, go."

He entered dripping wet. His shoes were making squishy sounds and he was shaking. I got a towel and some fresh clothes for him to wear (I sneaked in my brothers' room). While he was drying up, I set up a sleeping bag for him to stay in since he can't be going home in this weather.

"Thanks." He said wiping his perfect blondish-brown hair.

"Why'd you come here?" I asked softly. I didn't want to wake my brothers and luckily my dad has a case to work on.

"I needed to talk to you."

"About what?"

"Girl to guy stuff."

"Why me? Don't you have guy friends to talk to?" I said irritated.

"Yeah, but I need your advice."

"Fine, sit here." I gestured him to sit beside me in his sleeping bag. When we were both settled and we were sipping hot tea, Cheetos snuggled under Connor's buff arm.

"Pepper didn't show up." He said with a down face.

"What do you mean didn't show up?"
