The Real Hybrid

Chapter 5

~Scarlett POV~

After lunch, I went out to the training field to my next class. Lexi, Rebekah and Seth are chatting to each other whilst stretching. I start to walk over to them "Hi, I see that you're in the Alpha King's elite group" Lexi says looking at my uniform, with a hit of jealousy in her eyes. "Yeah, I don't really know why though" I tell her when I reach them. I start stretching and a tall, well-built man comes over to the group. All the girls apart from Rebekah finish stretching and start flirting with him. Rebekah stands up with a look of disgust on her face. "Who is this person?" Rebekah looks away from the flirting girls and towards me "That's Alpha Blake, the Alpha King's younger brother - he's our track teacher" she tells me looking back to the girls. Everyone starts stretching whilst Alpha Blake does his laces.

"So we will be running the track along the pitches, through the woods and then back along the pitches", some people groan at the thought of doing ten miles, but I don't mind as I've always loved running. We start running, I leave Lexi and Rebekah near the middle of the group. I run up to the front near Seth and pass him. There is most of the class in the middle, then a small group at the back, but there were only two of us at the front of the group apart from Blake. We get into the woods and I am the only student keeping up with Alpha Blake, everyone else is finding it difficult - dodging tree stumps and bushes. Blake runs ahead onto the field for the last stretch, I'm alone and I prefer it that way because no one trying to talk to me. I get onto the field and Seth and another girl from the elite group are right behind me. I finally get to the finish where Alpha Blake is just standing there looking like he hasn't just run ten miles. I grab my water and flop to the ground waiting for everyone to finish.

I look over to where Blake is standing, he has Rebekah's water bottle in his hand. Rebekah runs over the finish line, she grabs her bottle of Alpha Blake and gives him a death glare. I have no idea why she hates him so much, I am snatched out of my thoughts when Rebekah comes and sits next to me, trying to get her breathing steady.

"You finished that pretty quickly, you even passed Seth and Rose who are always first," she says starting to drink her water from the bottle. " Running helps me clear my mind I did it loads when my mum moved us to the middle of nowhere. In that time I probably got really good, and by the way what's going on with you and Alpha Blake?" She looks towards Alpha Blake, who is with some girl helping steady her breathing, she turns to me "Nothing, he just gave me a really bad mark last year and I thought I deserved better."

"Okay guys you're dismissed for the day, go get ready for dinner" Alpha Blake says. I grab my bottle from the ground and run into the house. I get to my room and grab two towels out of my cupboard - Rebekah did organise this really well. I get to the bathroom first and turn the shower on to warm up. I strip out of my sweating clothes and step into the shower. Letting the water run down my back and then I start washing my hair. I get out of the shower and rush to my room in just my towels, as I forgot to grab any clothes. I get to my room and finish drying myself before putting on a pair of high wasted skinny jeans, an oversized shirt of Ethan's that I stole and a pair of pink ballet flats. After I finish getting dressed I dry my hair and start to do my makeup. I hear a knock on the door, "Come in," I say and Rebekah, Lexi and Cassey come in and place themselves on my bed.

"You know you can put that outside your door in a laundry bag and it will be returned to you clean tomorrow," Cassey says pointing to the pile of my sweaty uniform.

"Okay thanks, that's really helpful. Isn't dinner like in two hours?" I ask them.

"Yeah it is but we can either stay here, go to the Library and study - boring. Or go to the Rec Room and have fun. What do you want to do since you're the new girl?" Lexi asks me.

"Let's go to the Rec Room" I say finishing my makeup, the girls walk down to the Rec Room and I follow. We get there and Thomas, Seth, Robb and Liam are all one the sofa's chatting. I walk over and place myself in the middle of Robb and Liam, who then put their arms round shoulders. We all start chatting for a while and then the bell for dinner rings, we all get of the sofas and walk to the hall. Half way walking to the hall I jump on Liam' back who then gives me a piggy back rid. He runs down the hall really fast and I'm on his back screaming like I'm a little girl again. When we get to the entrance his puts me down and we go grab our dinner. Liam walks straight off after grabbing his dinner, but I thank the cook's after taking mine. Sometimes Liam is a bit rude but he is really quite sweet inside. I walk over to the table, that Liam is sat on and start eating. The other's join us after a while, since me and Liam ran ahead. After we finished the sun was setting and you could see the orange and red rays of light shining through the windows. I walk back to the Rec room with Rebekah by my side and everyone following. We get in there and resume the position's we were in earlier and start chatting, laughing and making fun of each other again.

Cassey looks at her phone for a moment and then starts to speak "It's half an hour until we have to be in bed, so we should get going." Everyone agrees and we all go back to our rooms to get ready. After I finished getting ready, I flop onto my bed and fall straight asleep.
