Shrishti's POV:

I tried so hard to avoid coming here. Like, what did I think would happen if we come to Pune? Of course, Veer is gonna new his family and as he is the most loose-lipped person on earth, he told his parents about me.

We all sat inside Veer's house. It was all too familiar to me. I knew every nook of this house. I, more or less, grew up here. After I was well received by Tanuja, Veer's mother, I had all the attention. She was always fond of me, maybe even more than she was fond of Veer. I had to lie so much. She asked me why I disappeared from home and I had to say I got picked up by my relative.

I was indeed really happy about having this life back. Even if it was for some time. But I wondered if it was right for me to enjoy this life. I shouldn't give myself such expectations of having this life back, it's all just a trip down memory lane.

I exited the room wanting some fresh air and stood out on the porch of Veer's home. Prayas joined me a minute later. We sat on the bench there.

"This is the first time I've actually seen you nervous." He said looking ahead. I hummed.

"Well, yes. It's been over eight years since I've met anyone here. It is a bit nerve-racking." I shivered.

"They were all speaking about your brother being out of the country. He'll return tomorrow." He said with worry cutting through his tone. It was almost like he was concerned for me. I looked at him and he looked back.

"Thank you," I said and moved closer to him. it was a certain level of warmth suited for a person like him that made me feel comforted. His woody eyes when the sun hit them were a different level of ethereal. It was really intriguing at times too. I rested my shoulder against his shoulder.

My mind couldn't stop thinking about how much I missed my brother. Samarth Agarwal. We were the ideal type of siblings until Veer decided to put me through shit and stabbed me.

-The middle of November in Pune. I was coiled up in my room after being let out of the hospital. I was so scared. Of everyone. I couldn't bear looking at the kitchen. The sight of a knife scared me. On one of those days when I was still feeling all this, I sat in my room hugging my knees, I heard pounding on my door.

"Shrishti! Get out of your room!" Samarth shouted. I flinched just at his tone. I limply opened the door and peeked. He stood there furious.

"How long are you going to be cooped up in there? It's not a joke Shrishti!" He barged into the room.

"What happened?" I asked. It was rare that he behaved like that. He was more composed than me. Things must have gone to shit.

"What happened? You have been suspended from your school for irregular attendance. Our Insurance Compay terminated our insurance. And I can't do this anymore!" Samarth threw my school letter at my feet.
