Veer's POV:
I left the place and strode to the lobby. It was brutal for me to watch Shrishti go through the pain. It made me mad at myself for having put her through it when she was only nineteen. I wiped away the tears that had formed in the corner of my eyes. I sat down on the couch in the waiting area.
Reena sat down beside me. She looked annoyed. She crossed her legs and sighed.
"What?" I asked. I was already pissed off that she kissed me.
"Why are you so disturbed?" She spat.
"What do you mean? Shrishti almost died."
"Yes, but why are you so annoyed? You barely even know her. Apart from that stupid childish fling, you two had when you were kids."
"Shut up, Reena. You talk as if you know me. You don't, okay? Just leave."
"I do know you. Well enough than her."
"If you did, you wouldn't have tried to kiss me." I stood up trying to leave but turned back, "Let me make myself clear. I am not interested in you, Reena. I'm sorry if I led you on like that, but I don't like you in the way you want me to."
Reena was stunned. She was angry too. It was visible on her face.
"Are you not interested in me just because she had come into your life again?" She uttered.
"She has nothing to do with that. Stay within your limits, please." I say and walked off, leaving her back.
I think it was because Shri had come back to my life that I started ignoring all possible intimate relationships with people. Before her I hadn't considered, now, I was ignoring them.
You, Shrishti Agarwal, are a problem.
•••
On the flight back, Shrishti was still fast asleep. She was next to me. We had to book an economy class flight because we needed to hurry and this was the only available flight.
We all had taken whichever seats were empty hence our group was scattered around the plane. I chose to be with Shrishti if anything serious happens. I found myself looking at her quite often. What would I do if I lost her today? After all the time we've been together. It's been a couple of weeks since we met again.
7th June.
We have till the 2nd of August to find out about the boss. We need to have him...or her captured before they become more powerful and expand their reach in the underworld of drugs.
I still wonder why Shrishti has become so devious and has been sending drugs to hospitals. Cocaine is not a pharmaceutical drug. It caused adverse effects. I kept looking at her and was a bit startled when she woke up and looked at me too.
