You shake your head.  “It’s super tempting, I’m not going to lie.  But if we start getting seen out together, I’m going to get heat from it.  It’ll be too much trouble with work, and we’ll always be on the other end of rumors that we’re dating.  I don’t want to have to deal with your rabid fanbase, and I’m not sure you want to have to deal with that kind of press either.  I think we need to keep it to just sex.”

Tony huffs and rolls his eyes.  “Come on,” he says.  “Live a little.”

“Seriously, Tony,” you say, and run your hand up his chest.  “I really love the sex, but it’s got to stay like that if that’s all we’re doing.”

Tony huffs again. “Fine,” he says, holding his hands up in defeat.  “No gala.  But you’re missing out.”

“I’ll risk it,” you say.  “I’ll see you tomorrow, okay?”

“Yeah,” he agrees, clearly sulking.  “See you tomorrow.”

You head to the elevator and as the doors close Hill appears out of nowhere and jumps on at the last second.

“What was that about?” she asks, slightly accusatory.  “Oh god, he’s got an STD, doesn’t he?  He’s doing that thing where he has to tell all his past partners so they get tested?”

“What?!” you yelp.  “No!  Jesus, Hill!”

“Then what did he want?” she asks again.

“He wants me to be his date for that gala tomorrow,” you explain.

She looks at you with her brow furrowed.  “Why?”

She drags out the word far too long and you sigh, getting ready for her verbal lashing.  “Tony and I have been hanging out.”

“You’re dating Tony Stark?” she shouts.  “Why am I only hearing about this now?  I know everything that happens in this building.”

“We’re not dating,” you assure her.  “We’re just … hanging.”

“And having sex?” she says accusatorily.

“Well, yes, but…”

“No, buts.  For Tony Stark, that’s dating.  Sex more than once is dating.  Hanging out and having sex regularly and you’re practically married,” she rants.  “And why aren’t you telling me these things?” she adds with a huff.

“It’s really not like that,” you say.  “I swear.  And the reason why I know it’s not like that is the same reason why I didn’t tell you.”

“FRIDAY, stop the elevator,” Hill says in a deadly cool voice.  The elevator slows and then stops halfway between the sixth and seventh floors.  “Spill it.  Now.”

You take a deep breath and let it out slowly.  “You know how the hook-up was a threeway with Clint?”

“Yes,” she said.  “And I’m still mad you won’t give me details.  Clint’s basically told me every single stroke.”

“He did what?!” you shout.

“Stay focused,” Hill scolds.
