You sigh and take a sip of your coffee. "I had so much fun last night. I really did. But I'm out. I just can't see any of this being good for me in the long run. One night was great. And I'd like to stay friends."
"Yeah," Tony agrees. "That's what I think. I do better as friends."
Clint sighs. "I thought it would be fun."
"It might be. But I think I know myself well enough to know I'd mostly just be in pain," you say.
"Alright, alright," Clint says. "It could have been good."
"Yeah, well," Tony says, clapping Clint on the shoulder and squeezing it. "Friends is good too."
"Alright," you say, lifting your coffee cup. "To friends."
The two men laugh and clink their cups against yours. "To friends."
