valentine's day 2.0 ➪ ni-ki

"Delivery!" Aran yells with a box in his hands. "Thank you so much!" I take out the roses from the box. As I finish sorting them out, I still see Aran next to me.

"You got a date?" He picks up the losen blossoms "Nope. I'm not expecting one anyway. What about you?" – "I asked Mei." – "You did?! Oh my lord, what did she say?" He laughs "I don't know, I bought her a rose and placed it into her locker. I'll meet her at the parking lot later on."

"Well, I hope everything goes as plan!" I give him a big smile as he nods. Aran is about to say something but gets cut off from his phone. "I'll see you later, text me if you need help." He waves goodbye. "Good luck!" I yell once he flashes a smile.

- Riki pov

"Rik, I have something for you." Kozu gives me a red rose.

Another rose? Are you for real?

"Again? Tell them I have a girlfriend. They should really stop giving me the roses." I sigh giving it back to him.

I am just waiting for this day to pass. Waiting for no roses so I can ask her out. "You don't even have a girlfriend…" Kozu shakes his head placing the rose on the desk. "I just want to be seen with no roses. Act like I never got asked out." I smile, thinking about her.
"Okay whatever, good luck." One last laugh leaves his mouth when he also leaves.

I get back to class, seeing her desk empty. I shake my head with another quiet smile.

"Excuse me for being late, I needed to finish my shift." She interrupts the lesson and sits on her seat. "No worries, y/n. You're excused." The period ends quickly, making our day at school also end.

Happily I smile, knowing she has no date. This is my time.

- Y/n pov

"Y/n!" Riki calls me before I try to escape. "What's up Rik?" – "You got any roses?" We were walking down the hall as we're about to reach the roses stand. "Nope, I didn't even try to get one." He laughs at my statement.

how can someone be so cute?

"Did you get one?" I ask. He stops at the stand, completely ignoring me. "One pink rose, please." Riki trades the money with the rose from Naomi. "Now you got one." He hands me the rose as I froze.

"Didn't you get a lot? That's cheating." I narrow my eyes, taking the rose.
"I rejected them all, I never said something about that anyway, speaking of the challenge, did you know Aran also asked Mei out?" He informs me as I nod. "And that made you ask me for a date?" I laugh, waiting for his reply. "What? No, I just like you." Riki mumbles, scratching his neck.

I smile at his shy actions, knowing well he isn't that type of boy.

"You can be lucky I had a crush on you for a while now." I walk ahead. "YOU WHAT!?" Naomi and Riki both scream as I keep walking.

After a while Riki caught up with my steps and held my hand. "A date it is." He grins, leaving me have a natural blush on my face.

Yes, a date it is.
