valentine's day ➪ ni-ki

Quite a while now since I'm in a class with him. Him, my first ever real crush. To who I really want to confess. But there is one thing, I can't really talk with the opposite gender... However my friends have male friends and that's why I know a few of them, including my crush.

"Who's helping with the groceries again?" My teacher asked when everyone got quiet.

We're having a valentine's festival soon so we're going to bake together and sell a lot of stuff.

"It was me and Naomi but she's not here today." I was assigned to get the groceries with my best friend but this bitch just stayed home. "Okay, you can't go alone so take a few people with you." She looked around trying to pick helpers. "Riki, Mei and Aran, can you accompany and help her?" – "Always!" Mei smiled taking my hand.

Mei is one of my closest friends, Riki and Aran they're friends of my friends and lowkey my friends too. As I said, I don't have male friends but I can joke around with them, so it's cool.

We walked to the nearest store, which is the mall, to get the ingredients for the cake and muffins. We were talking and laughing all the way there. Mei and Aran are fast walkers and walked ahead, so Riki and I were walking in the back going through the list.

"We have a lot of time right?" – "Yea, let's go to other stores too then." Mei laughed. This will be fun.

Once we arrived we got rid of the things on the list. It was a lot but thank god we were four. Because Riki and I were walking together all the time we got into groups and he came with me. We finished earlier than Mei and Aran and started joking around with things.

"Here for you riki." I laughed waiting for his reaction. "Y/n, stop already" he laughed taking the heart chocolates and placing it back "Mei and Aran will start teasing." He laughed now taking a box of chocolate saying I love you. "But here to cheer you up." He started laughing again and earned a slap from me. This teasing kept on going until strangers started looking at us strangely.

"Guys! Let's get ice cream!" Aran said once we got out of the store. "Oh I know a place!" I said taking the lead. It was the smallest grocery store. Aran started looking for something else as Mei, Riki and I were standing at the freezer.

"Riki! Which one do you want?" I laughed showing two ice creams. The first one was baby pink with lots of hearts as the second one had a big ily on it and also lots of hearts. "Y/n" he started cracking up "this one and you'll get this one right?" I looked at his hand holding a caramel ice cream with a lovely quote. "Of course!" I took the ice cream and laughed as I walked to Mei while we locked arms.

"What happened to you both?" Mei asked in confusion when she saw us being close. "She's my girlfriend." Riki laughed as I joined. "Wait, for real?!" – "No dumbo!" I laughed holding her hand. "Let's get Aran." We were still laughing as Mei groaned. "You love making those jokes" she shook her head making us laugh more. The whole time we couldn't stop laughing. We even got to the point where our stomachs started hurting.

"Do you guys have a Valentine's Day date?" Aran asked as we were walking back to the school. I shook my head as the others gave there answers. "Mei go on a date with me." Aran suddenly said making us all laugh.

"Let's make a challenge out of it," Riki narrowed his eyes, our attention belonging to him "If none of us get asked out for Valentine's Day, we will ask each other out on date. For example Mei and Aran," he looked at me, a big smile plastered on his face. Riki took my hand "And me and my lovely girlfriend." He started laughing once again.

"People will misunderstand you, if you keep doing that." Aran shook his head with a smile on his face. "I don't care. It's fun." I chuckled.

What's so wrong in making people think Riki is my boyfriend? He's not that bad anyways. Besides he's a gorgeous boy.

Valentine's Day came closer and no one asked me on a date. What did I even expect? I don't even talk with male figures.

Finally the day had arrived and I was still dateless. My job was to sell the roses with Naomi on my side. And I'm grateful for my best friend to help me out.

"I have a date later on, can you do it alone then?" She asks as I'm sorting the roses. "Sure." – "If not, you can ask Mei, she'll help you." I nod and smile as a student approaches the stall.

"Hey, can I get a blue one, please?" A boy says "Any note with it?" I pick up the rose when he hesitates "Can you help me?" He suddenly asks as I nod. "This is for my best friend and I think she likes me. I don't really want to break her heart, do you think this rose will do?" I think as I listen to his problem. "Should I hand it to her and you just write the note?" The male nods with a smile as I take the money. "She's in class 3.4, her name is Mira." He informs before saying thank you and leaving.

Hours pass and lots of roses got sold. It's cute to see loved ones giving each other roses in different colours with specific meanings and messages.

Oh, to get one rose.

I sigh looking at the almost sold out roses.
