ALL THAT GLITTERS ISN'T GOLD

The Formula 1 world, amongst many things, is known for its eccentricities, its wealth, its parties. The podium ceremony itself has a dedicated moment for the spraying of expensive champagne, the following parties often heavily documented on Social Media, the money surrounding the sport often rubbed into the faces of its viewers. However, it would appear that McLaren's "golden boy", and recently the sports brightest star, has come to learn that all that glitters is not gold.

LANDO NORRIS has spent his last month in an unusual way: with a girlfriend. To many followers of the sport, this came as a great shock, for the young star had developed quite the 'bachelor' reputation, becoming known for his reckless parties and string of girls. Prior to the announcement of this relationship, I wrote of this behaviour potentially affecting Norris' career, and it would appear that he heeded the warning, supposedly 'settling down' with fellow Formula 1 driver William Villeroy's younger sister, Anastasia. Anastasia was a particularly intriguing choice of WAG, for whilst little is known of her, her visit to Arizona's Narcotic Rehabilitation centre was widely publicised, her preceding antics also widely speculated upon. It can easily be argued that she is far more reckless than Norris, her addictions often landing her in hospital and therapy, though her act has cleaned up recently.

So, the world thought that the King and Queen of youth recklessness had found solace in each other, even potentially putting their partying ways behind them, but recent sources indicate that  the brief relationship may already be over. Recently, the couple were photographed in Norris' McLaren, Villeroy's tear soaked face suggesting a rather tense scene inside the luxury supercar. As a result, many fans and commentators are assuming that the couples relationship, which appeared to have largely kept both out of trouble, has already turned sour.

Thus, whilst Norris may be collecting trophies on track, he appears to have lost a beautiful one at home. Though official sources are yet to confirm the split, insider gossip suggests towards stringent relations between the couple during social situations, with one source particularly pointing towards perhaps some illicit involvement pertaining to Charles Leclerc, though this remains speculation.

Fans are now left wondering what this shall mean for Norris: his whirlwind romance appears to have had little negative impact on his glowing results on track, with Norris in contention for a potential World Championship this year, but it is difficult to predict how this heartbreak may affect him. Nonetheless, it looks as though its back to the drawing board for formula 1's newest most eligible bachelor, and a lonely season ahead. Will McLaren's golden boy keep his act clean, or will he once more endanger his career with his own antics?

lando's pov...

"I don't know who this guy thinks he fucking is, but I want to fucking murder him." Fury shakes through me as my eyes burn into the article in front of me.

"He's a gossip columnist. Writes nothing but speculation, take no notice of it." Charlotte places a reassuring hand on my shoulder, her eyes full of sympathy, but it only intensifies my anger.

"No. This isn't fucking okay. He's speculating on shit he knows nothing about all because he has a lousy job as a cock sucking journalist who never got his big break. I'll give him his fucking break when I smash his-" I can't remember the last time I was quite this angry. Anastasia had driven me close to it in the past few weeks, but this particular situation felt incredibly personal.

The way he described Anastasia crying, her... time... in Arizona, his mocking tone when speaking of me...

"Lando, If you want we can press charges, but I truly don't know what we'd even be able to have a go at... He makes clear that its speculation, and it's nothing that twitter hasn't been screaming about for the last five hours." Charlotte tries to reason with me, and it's truly admirable.
