It takes a full day to get to Konda village. You and Kazuha have been growing more comfortable with one another through that time and got to know one another more.
You've learned he could play on a grass whistle, and he said he would demonstrate it for you when you had time to relax.
In your hand laid five small metal bullet cases, clicking against each other as you moved them around and counted them in your head. Kazuha was holding the map as he looked at everything you marked, meanwhile you pulled out your gun from its side holster with your spare hand. You slid your thumb along the barrel until it popped open. You angled it so that you could look inside, only seeing one bullet in the six-hold chamber. You slid the five bullets in your hand into the slots, making sure they were all snug and facing the right way before you closed it and spun the barrel to test if it were rusting. Seeing as it glided smoothly, you nodded your head before you checked that the safety was on and returned it back to your side.
As you guys walk, you decided to eat a granola bar with Kazuha to keep your energy up. The wrapping that hugged it slid down slightly as you two ate and walked, finishing the rest quickly when signs of the village up ahead begin to appear. There were open crates, abandoned wheelbarrows, and broken wood fence all around the gate, an eerie welcome as the lifeless village invited you two in.
It took no time at all for you two to see Zombies mindlessly walking around outside of the first buildings to your right, Kazuha narrowing his eyes at them as he watched their every move.
Slowly making his way over to you, being careful and light on his feet, he held out the map for you to see. His finger pointed down where a blue streak was touching the village on the map, and you wordlessly agreed to his silent message with a nod of your head.
You've both been so thirsty and you're so glad that according to the map, there's a river nearby. Deciding to head there first, that's what you guys do. Luckily, the Zombies took no notice of you guys as they dragged their feet along the dirt, walking in randomizes paths to wander throughout the village.
It was only a three-minute walk to the left of the entrance of the village when you hear the sound of a stream. Clear water slid past mossy rocks and distorted the sand and pebbles resting on the bottom, a fish occasionally jumping and diving back in as they happily swam in a side-to-side pattern.
Both you and Kazuha had sparkles in your eyes as you looked at the river in pure joy. Long grass and plants grew out from rocks and wildlife was abundant, the lack of predators this past year making the population of a lot of species drastically increase.
The straps of your bag on Kazuha's shoulders slid down, falling off of his arms as he gently placed it on the flourishing grass in front of his feet. He crouched down and zipped open the bag, rolling up the map of Inazuma and placing it inside before he grabbed out your water bottle and held it up for you.
You walked towards him and took it out of his hands, quick to unscrew the cap as you smiled down at him. He left your bag there and began to walk over to the water, frogs hopping away hearing the footsteps and a rabbit on the opposite side that had its head dipped down to drink standing frozen and looking up at him. When you joined Kazuha, the extra steps made it scurry away, though you two paid it no mind as you both crouched down next to each other.
Kazuha dipped his fingers into it, feeling the cold-water rush past his skin as it all flowed in one direction. His other hand quickly followed, the two pressing together as he cupped his hands and held them under the surface to gather it in his hands.
