I don't know if it was the rain or the late night shower but I slept so good lastnight I woke up before my alarm this morning.
Thankfully Remy's car was gone when I look outside and Kera had of course gone with him. My morning was starting great already.
I washed my face and made some mint tea to burst the gas before I started to tidy and clean up the messy house that they had left behind.
Fucka dem nasty yf. Fi see how fi him house stay an smell
I finished my cleaning wondering if I should wash my clothes but decided against it since I wouldn't be home to watch them and the rain was still dark in the sky even though it held up.
I decided to wait until Sunday to do it and sat down on my bed scrolling through instagram to pass the time until I had to get ready for work.
Ding! A notification came in on whatsapp from a strange number saying hey.
Coulda who dis yah now
I swiped away the message thinking if it was important then the person would call or something.
I got up and picked out a pants that stopped at my calf and a plain black blouse with my 1 black crocs for work.
Making my way outside for a quick the showet the water was cold as ice this morning. Thank God mi did set the funnel in the drum or else nuh water wouldn't catch.
We had running water once but it got cut off and aunt Maxine decided she wasn't going to pay the bill as she owed for a couple months and since then we have been using mostly rain water or river water to bathe.
I finished up, brushed my teeth and combed my hair now having to rush because somehow I ended up being late.
I hope mi can get a taxi enuh, cause dem man here only run when dem feel like or when dem bruck.
I made sure my room door was locked before I locked the front door rushing to catch the car I heard coming down the road.
"Wah fat pussy Deja look well thick inna dah pants deh though" As mi walk through the gate a that mi hear.
I turned around to see one of the community so called "scammer" digging out his hand middle with a rum special smiling at me.
*kmt* chro a bet say dem not even brush teeth or wash dem face from morning yuh come a look woman
I didn't even pay any mind to him knowing that they were only seeking attention.
"Oye mi can tek care a yuh enuh, yuh wouldn't haffi work a next day a yuh life enuh mumma" he continued as if I was even considering even looking his direction.
Ding! Ding! I heard my phone again just as a taxi finally rolled up.
"Come pon the front deh thickaz" the driver said as tall slim man came out to let me in.
A this mi caa bother with enuh and bet say mi affy go walk go inna the town because dem say dem caa go straight inna the town with two a front. A just cause mi late enuh.
I lived in a small community in St. Mary and it was the hardest thing to get taxi whether night or day, yuh haffi time dem or else yuh stand up for how long before yuh see one.
Just as i expected they left us at the bottom of the town and we had to walk to the middle of the town.
Chro man mi caa go bother with Mr. Monroe mouth enuh. A wouldn't mind him nuh come early today but that wasn't likely since it was a Saturday and pay day. That was the only thing that put a pep in my step today.
