Chapter 12: Pineapple Express Pt. 2

Y/N POV:

We swept through the opening of another building, killing every covenant soldier we came across. What used to be a covenant outpost now was littered with bodies as we walked our way forward. We made it into into an open area, and found 3 other squadmates. Looking to me for directions, I pointed in two directions and they dispersed, splitting up with me still standing there. Looking at the covenant weaponry, I picked up a plasma rifle and a carbine. Slinging those over my back, I made my way forward with my smg, examining each building carefully. I entered another building and went to activate my terrain scanner again, I'm thankful it detects hostiles through walls and floors.

Me: All father give me sight.

The terrain scanner lit up and marked hostiles in the basement, deactivating visor mode and seeing how dark the basement was made me chuckle with an idea. I pressed the button on my radio.

Me: This is Goyo 6, going dark.

Marion: Affirmative Goyo.

Fixing the bayonet onto my smg again, I slowly entered the basement. My visor mode taking care of the night vision, showing me the exact positions of the enemies. One was at the bottom of the stairs with its back towards me and 3 others were in a room to the right of the staircase. Slowly making it down to the bottom of the stairs, I quickly stabbed the grunt in the back, my stab cutting one of the air lines and the grunt flying away into the wall, dying on impact. I made a quick "well that just happened" look and chuckled abit before proceeding to the next room. Looking into the next room, a brute took out its spike grenade to inspect it and it accidentally armed it. There was roaring from them as the one threw it at the wall and it bounced off and landed in between the three of them. I ducked behind the doorway and the blast killed them all, and looking inside and seeing one of their bodies just rag doll into the wall. I walked into the room to loot their bodies for weapons.

One final enemy that was on the other side of the floor, came walking through the window. Turning around, I immediately recognized it as  high ranking elite, with sapphire blue armor instead of the normal purple. It roared at me and it slashed its energy sword at me, like usual, I ducked under it and went to stab it with my bayonet, the blade hitting its armor but not going through.

Me: Dam shields.

The elite punched me and I punched back with my right hand. And with the butt of my smg hitting his hand with the energy sword. It's energy sword fell to the ground and then it went to smack me again, this time I stabbed the bayonet into its armor again, the blade piercing through this time. Keeping the blade lodged in, started to try and stab deeper while the beast was punching my back, thank goodness for the weapons on my back taking the brunt of the attacks so my armor could protect me awhile. Finally finishing the stab wound to it, it fell to the side and laid on the ground. It's eye looking at me as I put the smg back over the my shoulder and grabbing my pistol. I pointed the pistol towards it and aimed for its head, the helmet of the beast not equipped.

I unloaded half of the clip into the beast's head and some blue blood came out of it, marking its death. Turning around and heading back up the stairs of the basement, I soon exited the building. Finding myself outside in the target area again, I looked around and seen dead bodies of aliens in the upcoming buildings. Seems one of the others is clearing the path for me. Picking up the pace, I ran forwards to the next buildings and ran through them, zooming to the next objective. The covenant weapons on my back bouncing alittle as they hung there, moving with me as we walked along the ground. The visor's night vision and terrain scanner making a dangerous combo, telling me that there was 15 hostiles in this building. From the outside, the building looked like an armory with a radar on top of it. The radar was spinning in a circle scanning the area for something and it had the number 65 on the side.
