Chapter 4

Emerald POV:

I rolled over, on top of Diggy's chest and kissed his warm lips. We both grinned, as I looked into his eyes which were bright with stars.

I placed one of my arms around his neck as we lay on the blanket, and another one around his torso. We laid there in silence.

Suddenly, to my left I saw a light in the trees nearest to us.

"Diggy, what is that?" I whispered to him.

"I'm...not sure," he said before shouting, "Hey who is that?", across the field. The light began moving slowly, and then, I saw it. My eyes widened in shock and I began to scream at the top of my lungs, shaking Diggy violently. "Oh my gosh! It's her, it's her! We have to go!" Diggy stood up, looking bewildered, as he grabbed my hand and began running across the field to our car. "Who is 'her'?" he yelled.

"No time," I responded. "She's a crazy bitch, I'll explain later."

Because I'm pregnant, I was struggling to run along side Diggy.

"Diggy, I... I can't."

He turned around, and looked at me.

"Get on."

I jumped on his back, and he ran with me on him, to the car.

By the time, we got into the car, Monae was standing outside, knocking on the glass window of the back seat.

"Diggy, go!" I screamed.

He sped off, leaving that crazy woman behind.

Diggy POV:

After we got into the car, I didn't know what to say.

"Okay Emerald, so who was that girl?" I asked, confused.

Emerald sat in her seat, looking down at her hands and twiddling her thumbs. "She uhm," she began with a shaky voice. "She was one of my old friends, and she was a lesbian. She tried to get with me, but when I said I wasn't about that, she got really angry, and ever since, she wouldn't leave me alone. I'm sorry Diggy, I was just scared she would do something to you. I don't even know how she found us."

My mouth widened in shock. What kind of messed up person would do something like that?

"Well, although it's very weird," I began. "You know I'll be by your side, and I'll do anything to protect you."

She looked over, giving me a weak smile.

"But how do you know that I can protect you? I don't want to fail you."

We stopped at a red light, and I reached over, placing my arms around her, pulling her towards me for a quick hug.

"You could never fail me. We're a team, don't worry about anything. Please... alright?"

She sniffled.

"Yeah."

Suddenly, the light turned green and I continued to drive.
