As Merlin combed his prince's hair, he couldn't help but feel mixed emotions. He knew he had to suck up his feelings and prepare Arthur for his special night. Arthur had no idea what to do. The marriage was forced. He didn't want to marry this women.
"It's going to be okay, sire." Merlin spoke, laying the comb to the side. "You're doing the right thing for Camelot."
"By marrying a women I just met, Merlin? I don't even like her," Arthur muttered.
"She might be nice, beautiful even."
"She's beautiful, but....it.... it's nothing, never-mind. You wouldn't understand," Arthur replied.
"I know I'm just your servant, but you can tell me. I know you have the weight of the kingdom resting in your shoulders. I do understand."
"If you was in my shoes how would you tell your father you don't like women?"
"Well, I'd sit him down over dinner and explain it. Or get caught, easier as you wouldn't have to actually say it."
Arthur looked at Merlin through the mirror. "I don't want him to catch me doing anything. I would rather talk with him, but you know how he is."
"Would you rather I tell him? I could be by your side."
"No, I will need to tell him. But you can helped with something else,."
"And what would that be sire?"
Arthur turned around pulling Merlin's lips to his. Merlin was shocked at first but soon started to kiss back. Merlin's hands hands rested on Arthur's thighs, running up and down.
Merlin couldn't help but blush as he grabbed the comb, trying to make himself look busy. Uther was standing at the door. "Are you ready?" Arthur wanted to tell him no, but couldn't.
"Do I have to marry this women?" Arthur asked.
"Arthur the future of Camelot rests on this marriage. You cannot pass this up."
Arthur looked back at Merlin. "Father, what if I don't have feelings for this women but someone else?"
"If her status is high enough, we could come to an agreement."
Arthur sighs as he didn't want to say anything but knew his father was not understand him. "I don't want a relationship with a women. I tried I don't connect with them."
Uther went quiet for a moment, looking at his son. "You're my only son and I want you to be happy. I wasn't the greatest husband, but I know you will be. Any man would be lucky to have you."
"Any man? What if he was a servant?"
Uther looked back at Merlin who was just as shocked as Uther.
"Does he make you happy?" Uther asked.
"Yes."
Uther smiled. "That would explain why you broke so many rules for the boy."
"Father, I can't pretend I don't love him, I can't imagine my life without him, and quite frankly I don't want to. If I can't marry Merlin, you'll have to find yourself another heir."
"You are more then welcome to marry who you want Arthur. But you will need a heir to take over when you're gone. You could have a surrogate or you could adopt. Whatever you want to do. Now, I believe there's a wedding to attend."
Arthur was shocked, grabbing Merlin's hands. "Father, I can't marry her."
"No, you can't. Merlin, I'll have Gwen come in and help you get dressed."
