It had been weeks now and Mindy still couldn't shake the urge to go to Maria's room and make love to her again. It pressed from in inside her chest against her rib cage trying to be let out. She had made it this long with out breaking again but everyone time they were alone in the apartment it would beg her for release.

"Maybe I could just say hi?" She chewed her lip as she considered it. "Stop it. You know that you're not strong enough." She took a deep breath. "Maybe you should just face her and talk to her. Things have been awkward and I should fix them. Yeah!" She looked in the mirror and fixed her hair a little before removing herself from the isolation of her bedroom. She was surprised to find Maria out in the front room playing Tyson's video game.

"I didn't know you played video games", Mindy said.

"I didn't either but I've been watching Tyson play this and it's actually pretty interesting. It's more fun than I thought it would be."

"Cool! Mind if I sit with you?"

"Go ahead."

Mindy say on the other end of the couch and watched Maria stare concentratedly at the screen. She could never get over how pretty she was.

"So... is it ok if I ask about the divorce?" Mindy prodded.

Maria sighed.

"It has been difficult." She paused. "Facing Richard again has been... almost scary." She paused the game.

"Yeah I'm glad I don't have to see him again. It would be too much for me."

"It's just so many feelings. There's a part of me that still loves him and sometimes feels sorry for him but I'm also still angry and know that he'll never change. He'll just keep hurting me. It's what he does. I'm hoping that I get most of the custody with Ben but he's putting up a fight and I'm the one who left."

Mindy could hear her voice start to quiver in her last sentence. Tears welled up in her big brown eyes.

"I'm so sorry, Maria." She hugged her and with that Maria finally burst. She sobbed on Mindy's shoulder showing vulnerability that Mindy had never seen. She squeezed her tighter and just held her.

Maria wrapped her arms around her then after a moment regained her composure and pulled back.

"Thank you, Mindy. You are sweetest person I've ever known."

They stared into each others eyes and saw into one another. Mindy caressed Maria's face and kissed her. "I'll always be here for you. I... I love you." It came out in a whisper but was full of sincerity. They kissed again. This time staying locked as sparks shot through Mindy's body. Her breathe leaving her lungs. The whole world disappeared around her and only the two of them existed.
