Mindy looked up in amazement as she thought about how much has happened to her. She considers herself a mother now. Ben is growing up to be the sweetest little boy. Tyson has been a great father to him as well. He really stepped up when Maria got full custody after Richard went to prison.
Apparently, he couldn't dodge embezzlement and sexual harassment charges forever. Oddly enough, Mindy sometimes found herself feeling sorry for him despite everything he had done. She HAD loved him at one point. Feelings are complicated but she's learned to accept that now.
Speaking of acceptance, her and Tyson's families actually took it pretty well. Sure, they were disappointed that the wedding was called off and more than a little concerned when they found out why but, it wasn't long before they were all having dinner together and everyone came to their wedding. It was in ceremony only but it was still wonderful. Mindy could never forget how handsome Tyson looked in his tux and how gorgeous Maria was in her dress.
Some of Maria's family made it that day too. She had started reaching out to them after pushing them away during her last marriage. I guess Tyson and I inspired her to make things right with them.
Mindy looked back down at the two red lines that told her the most recent good news. After a year of trying, she was pregnant. Tears filled her eyes as she rushed out the door to tell her lovers. She couldn't wait to meet her new child.
