Falling In Love With You

Chapter - 25

The sun tried to descend behind the tall buildings of the campus after an exhausting day of providing his warmth to the world. Now after his long day , he just wanted to step away so that the moon could take his place and provide a calmness to the world. It seemed as if the flora and fauna too knew the sun's intentions as the birds tried to find a place to spend their night away while the trees swayed to the rythms of the evening breeze. The songs of the birds flying high up in the sky trying to enjoy the last few hours of daylight floated along with the gentle wind , the retreating sun tried to give as much of daylight to the world as possible before the moon could take up the duty after him , but how much ever he may try the darkness of the night slowly started to engulf the world. The people on the land loved the brightness of the day but they loved the darkness of the night even more , as for some the night provided a chance to dream about the future they desired but for some, it  brought out their worst fears.
                                        Every other white collar worker inside the campus of Tidel park waited for the evening to commence so that they could leave the office , so they could kick start their weekend early and spend their time with their loved ones after five days of hectic work at their office and it was no different within the office building of Syntana too. Everyone rushed to complete their tasks so that they could leave the office  because the saturdays in Syntana was a half working day ,  it might seem that it would decrease the working hours of the week but in reality it  made the employees work more  efficiently and made them love and respect their CEO even more. 

                                        The next three days after the rumours about Thara and Pallavan rolled on quickly , no other incidents occured between them in those three days and as a result of which  the rumours died down for the time being. Vasudha didn't ask Pallavan anything further about the cafeteria incident , she as promised , gave him the time until he himself would tell her what was the real reason behind everything and within those three days Vasudha and Pallavan managed to follow a routine in their busy schedule.  Vasudha would wake up early to prepare breakfast and dinner for both of them as sometimes it gets really late for them to get home and get ready for office after having her breakfast with her husband and Pallavan would drop her at the bus stop near their office every morning and wait for his wife discreetely to ensure that  she had reached the office safely , after their working hours Pallavan would send her a message to wait for him at the garage and they would  leave the office together. That being a Saturday most of the employees left for their homes early and by half past four only a few stayed behind and that too because either they had no social life or simply they tried to finish their work as soon as possible due to the pressure from their team leaders and managers.
                                        Vasudha was a bit worried about how they would leave the office in her husband's           car as there was still time for twilight and there was a humongous chance that anyone of the office employees could see them leave together , nonetheless she continued her work on the tasks other than what was alloted to her as she had completed her tasks earlier itself. She waited for Pallavan to send her a  message so that they can leave the office . It was quarter past four and by then Rahul , Shreya , Thara , Rithika and Nandhini had already left. Vasudha looked around her and saw that the floor  was almost empty and only a  few people remained on their floor working in their stations , she saw Harish working in his station and she looked out for Saravanan as she knew he had not left yet but he was nowhere to be seen and as for her husband , he was inside his cabin working dedicatedly indifferent to the world around  him but in reality that was what the job demanded of him. It was close to five and even the few employees who were working on their floor left and Vasudha realised that it was getting really late , so she thought of messaging her husband to ask  what she had to do . Just when she picked up her phone to type her husband a message , her phone lit up with a notification . It was a message from her husband ,
                              Pallavan : I'm sorry Vasudha ! For making you wait for this long. I know it's getting late but there would still be people around , so just  walk to the bus stop where I always drop you, I'll pick you up from there . Don't worry Vasudha ! I won't be long.
                              Vasudha : Ok.
                              Pallavan : And Vasudha ...
                              Vasudha : Yes ?
                              Pallavan : Please be careful...!
                              Vasudha : Don't worry...I will.
After sending her reply , Vasudha got ready to leave the office . She packed her bag and checked her station if  she had left anything behind , after ensuring that she had taken everything with her Vasudha walked in the now empty floor towards the stairs  as she didn't want to take the lift so late after most of the employees have left. After reaching the ground floor Vasudha crossed the main entrance and walked towards the bus stop where Pallavan had asked her to wait for him . The sun was going down , the bikes whirred past her , cars speeded one another along the expanse of the road , Vasudha walked slowly towards the bus stop along the footpath while admiring the beauty of the darkness that started to embrace the world. After a few minutes of walking , Vasudha reached the bus stop where she was supposed to wait for her husband and stood in wait for her husband to come , other than her there were few other ladies who were waiting for their buses .
