Vasudha gripped her head tightly between her hands , the constant typing of the keyboards , the high pitched murmurs of her colleagues , the cool whirring of the air conditioner... All these sounds took in the form of an amorphous monster with its infinite wavy claws , closed in on her and tried to break her head into splinters . The splitting headache was unbearable and the hours of staring directly into her computer screen made Vasudha's headache even worse . She tried to mute out all the noises around her but that made the silence within her heart become more and more loud in her ears , which was more frightening than the loud noises outside , for it had the potential to break her heart beyond repair .
She hadn't seen her husband for one whole day , she remained curled up on her living room sofa , looking at nothing but the Sun as it moved in its path along the sky , which it had been following for the past billion years , wishing that her husband too would find his path back home , to her . Minutes turned into hours , the bright sharp rays of the afternoon Sun replaced the tender morning sunrays making it impossible to see right through its brightness , slowly the Sun lost all its glamour of youthfulness as the day grew old . It tried to bury itself behind the tall buildings , plunging the world into darkness and in the process it buried all of Vasudha's hopes too , within itself .
As the world sunk into darkness , Vasudha's eyes closed into a baseless oblivion . A sharp sound pulled Vasudha from her troublesome sleep but her dried up tears and dehydrated lips made it impossible for her to open either her eyes or her mouth , as a fact going without food and water for a whole day would do that to a person . After an immense effort and ending up tearing the skin of her lips Vasudha forced her mouth and eyes open to another beautiful morning , but the fresh air and the pleasant hour of the early sunrays didn't give her any solace as it did before .
Shutting down her alarm Vasudha worked up the courage to call her husband and yet his phone was still switched off . All alone in that big house Vasudha had no one to turn to , she had only herself to find a solution for all her problems once again in her life. She tried to sit up from the sofa , but lying  in the same position for too long in her sofa made one side of her body become numb to any sensations and with her neck that refused to turn to any other side , made it even worse . However , Vasudha slowly rose up from the sofa , gently she tried to turn her head to the opposite side , it hurt like hell initially but she endured the pain. Slowly and steadily she tried to turn her head to either side and after a few minutes the pain started to subside , however not fully . She turned around and saw the quiet house , it felt as if no humans inhabited the space for a very long time and it posed a melancholic picture in front of her , the guilt struck her heart like a lightening , deep down she realised that she made a huge mess of her life and her husband's life too because of her stupid decisions , even her mind was too muddled upto find any solution to escape the mess she was in .
The hot shower poured over her head , it didn't aid in taking away the weariness of the heart as much as it did in lifting the physical tiredness . Vasudha thought of taking the day off from office but she doubted if she was ready to face the lonely reality that now had become her life. Inhaling deeply , Vasudha went on to get ready for work . After getting ready Vasudha entered the kitchen to have something before leaving for work , it was getting late and she didn't have enough time to prepare any breakfast , also she didn't feel like cooking anything for herself . However , not wanting to fall unconscious on her way to work , Vasudha reluctantly  ate two silces of bread and swallowed it down with a cold glass of milk.
Vasudha slowly walked up to her station , she saw that her friends and her teammates were yet to arrive . With her pounding heart in hand , Vasudha walked to her husband's cabin , in a desperate hope to get a glimpse of the man she ended up marrying , the guy who made her life beautiful , the guy who gave a meaning to her life . The room was still , there was no warmth in the room ,it seemed that the sanitary workers had cleaned his cabin . Pallavan was nowhere to be seen and her heart somehow realised that he was not gonna come that day to the office and she had no knowledge of his whereabouts.
