One hour into the car ride and the girls are starting to wake up a little more and be more talkative. "No no it was Andrew who was crushing on Meredith so hard and she had to let him down in the nicest way possible" Alyssa laughs.
"It really isn't funny I think he ran into the bathroom crying" Meredith says to them.
"You thought it was a little funny you have to admit" Gracie says.
"Okay you guys are cruel to him he is only a junior" Meredith giggles softly.
"So am I" Hope says.
"Same" Layla shrugs.
"That makes me so sad" Meredith pouts.
"I'm a sophomore" Kailee says.
"I'm a senior so is Alyssa and Gracie" Lucy says.
"Three out of six are seniors, that mean you guys won't be here with us next year" Meredith sighs.
"You better not cry at our last competition" Alyssa warns.
"You know I will just like last year, our team is getting smaller notice how we have no freshmen last year Kailee was the only one" she says.
"We'll next year let's hope you get a big group of freshman" Gracie says.
"Hopefully but I'm still going to cry I have been coaching you guys for four years and you will be leaving me" she says.
"How long have you even been coaching?" I ask gently.
"Four years exactly" she says.
"I'm so happy you started coaching when you did because I heard the last coach retired but she was like a rude old lady so I'm happy you were the new coach" Lucy says.
"Well I had to do something during college since I wasn't much as a dancer myself for college I just liked it in high school" she says, such a little liar she is the best dancer in the club.
"You are such a liar" I whisper and she smacks my shoulder.
"Hey meanie" I pout.
"Oh get over it" she rolls her eyes.
"Derek are you in an abusive relationship?" Kailee asks.
"Yeah she just hit me did you guys see that?" I ask turning to them.
"Derek we can help you stick up to her" Hope laughs.
"Thank you I'm so happy to have your support guys" I say as they hold my hand and nod.
"Oh come on you would support this big idiot" Meredith groans.
"At least I'm a nice big idiot" I roll my eyes.
"You are a mean big idiot" she argues.
"Meredith" I say.
"What?" she asks.
"Would you like me to drive?" I ask the girls letting go of my hand.
"Why would you ask to drive" she sighs.
"Because I'm a nice big idiot" I say.
"Derek" she giggles.
"What? I am actually being genuine would you like me to drive" I say tilting my head as I look at her.
"Do you actually want to drive?" she asks.
"Yes I do I actually do" I say.
"Just let the man drive" Alyssa says.
"Okay okay I'll stop at the next gas station and we will switch" she says and I smile, honestly I just want a reason for her to stop driving so I can kiss her but I'm okay with driving too.
Just like she said she would she stopped at the next gas station that we came across. We got out and switched sides. "You need a gps" she says getting it set up.
"Thank you" I chuckle.
"I guess you're welcome" she sighs.
"Meredith" I say.
"What?" she asks.
"Come here" I say leaning close to her.
"Okay" she says hesitantly moving closer to me.
I cup her face and kiss her gently not long but I left it linger a little before pulling away. "I got a picture of that" Lily says.
"I forgot about them" I chuckle sitting back and I start to drive.
"Wait I want to see it" Meredith says looking back at them and she shows her the picture.
"Wait why is that cute, Derek look" she smiles showing me.
I look over at it for a second before looking back at the road. "That is cute" I agree.
"You need to send that to me" Meredith tells her and she nods.
Meredith smiles as she gets the picture and then I hear my phone go off and I glance at her and she smiles grabbing my phone and saves the picture she sent me into my phone.
"Im making it my lock screen" she smiles.
"Look at my lock screen" I chuckle.
"That's us laying in your bed" she says.
"You were sleeping and looked cute" I say and she rolls her eyes.
"You are something else" she sighs.
"You were really cute and you were all cuddled up next to me, why wouldn't I take a picture of that?" I ask.
"I don't know because taking a picture of me sleeping is weird" she says.
"Think what you want" I shrug.
"I will" she nods.
"Good for you then" I say.
"Have you two had sex?" Gracie asks.
"No" Meredith says.
"Actually?" Lucy asks.
"Dead serious we haven't slept together yet" I say.
"Okay" Kailee says.
"You are dirty minded" Meredith tells them.
"Hormones" Alyssa says and I chuckle shaking my head.
Six more hours I can do it.
