(Quick note be for we start I'm deageing Setsuna to a teenager so his obsession with Izuku makes more sense.)
Kazuo Yamashita age 56 and employee of Nogi Publishing was currently shaking in his shoes as he tried to absorb all he was told. in Shotoku Year 5 (1715), in the darker recesses of the nation of Japan, there were bloody conflicts between various merchants who all desired the status of Shogunate Purveyor (the highest rank among all merchant purveyors). With the merchants willing to go to any lengths to achieve this status, the increasingly violent conflicts spiralled out of control. Finally, sick of all the bloodshed, the 7th Shogun of the Tokugawa Shogunate, intervened; summoning all the merchants at the heart of the quarrel, Ietsugu told them to settle their conflicts by "battling it out fair and square". Naïve and idealistic as this command was, it moved their hearts.
In accordance with the Shogun's command, the merchants formed a guild and, whenever a dispute arose, they would establish a venue of competition through the guild with the results of the competition being indisputable. Conflicts were settled in a simple 1-on-1 fist fight between combatants hired by opposing merchants. As such, merchants entrusted their desires to the fists of fighters.
The first official Kengan match was not between merchants, but was actually to decide who would become the next Shogun after Tokugawa Ietsugu's early death. The two branch families, the Owari Fief and the Kii Fief, put forward their fighters and the Kii Fief came out victorious, with their fighter being none other than the Lord of Kii Fief, himself.
That's how the Kengan matches came to be. A system of underground fist fights implemented over 300 years before the events of . Their purpose is to settle disputes and business deals between large corporations, organizations and businesses by sending fighters to determine the victor in organized fights.
"Do you understand everything I've just explained to you Mr.Yamashita?" Nogi Hideki, CEO of Nogi Group asked him calmly. He was an esteemed looking gentleman, always seen wearing the finest threads. He has black hair that is slicked back and wrinkled yet experienced facial features.
Besides him was one Akiyama Kaede, secretary for Nogi was watching Yamashita with a deadpanned expression. Kaede is a beautiful young woman with blonde hair that is tied in a ponytail with bangs/a chin-length hair strand hanging on the right side, brown eyes and her most notable feature is her big bust.
She wears red oval-shaped glasses and a long sleeve shirt with a blazer that is fully buttoned
This question caused Yamashita to shake even more, the explanation was the only thing he understood that happened this morning. Less than an hour ago he was being chewed out by his boss who was less than half his age just wishing he had the never to stand up to him when suddenly the head of their branch came in informing him the CEO wanted to see him.
Seeing the look Nogi hummed. "Well the answer is pretty simple. Our company is scheduled for a match and soon with a certain right at stake." Nogi told his employ before leaning in the back of his chair with a sigh. But we've run into a bit of an issue." He said before looking towards Yamashita.
"The man we hired to fight in the match suddenly became unable to due to personal reasons, so we've had to look for a replacement." Nogi admitted and Yamashita blinked a few times before breaking into a cold sweat as a nervous smile graced his face. "Are..are you asking me to fight?" He asked meekly.
For a split second a look of shock and surprise came to the CEO's face before he managed to recover. Though his tone was filled with amusement as he spoke next. "Well that's not bad idea, though I doubt it will come to that." He told Yamiashta with a bit of chuckle as the man breathed out deeply in relief. "We've actually already found someone quite capable to handle the match." The CEO informed before a knocking came from his door. "Oh that must be him know." Nogi spoke before calling for the replacement to enter.
