Chapter eleven

"Cheer up Abby my brother is a jerk anyway." Ava said trying to make me smile. We were on our way to the mall to get outfits for tonight. I haven't really said that much since Landon completely broke me in front of all his friends. I don’t know why his words affected me that much, it’s not like we were dating or anything, and Landon can think what he wants about me. I guess maybe I just had hope, I thought he would be different. He was so sweet to me; he was so easy to take to. Why had he never bashed me in front of his friends before? Thinking back we were never around his friends when we talked. The first and second time on the track we were alone, at his special place we were completely alone… Did he just think he could keep me his little secret? Never tell his friends? Was he embarrassed about being seen with me? You know what I don’t care, just let him live his life and I will live mine.

I reluctantly let Ava put me in different outfits, shopping isn’t really my thing. Ava looked really good in anything she tried on and she finally on decided on buying a black tank top with jewels around the low neck line. Her pants were a dark blue and she wore black leather boots to her knees. I finally chose some black jeans with a billowy white tank top and a black cardigan. I will add some accessories later.

No matter how much I tried I just couldn’t keep my thoughts away from Landon. Was he still coming to the party tonight? *sigh* why did I ever have to bump into him in the first place? Life would’ve been so much easier.

“Hello? Earth to Abby?” Ava said, waving her hand In front of my face.

“Sorry did you say something?” I asked, genuinely confused

“Yeah I asked if you wanted to go to the food court now?” she said, she was kind of staring at me weird, I must have really been zoned out.

"Yeah sure." I wasn't really hungry but Ava must have been so i just went with her.

At the food court we got in line for some fries and when we made it to the front of the line i was astounded to see a familiar face. Staring back at me was Mandy's brother Matt. Matt was Ava's age but i remember how he used to tease me back when we were kids.

"Abby, is that you!" said Matt. "I haven't seen you in forever!" he jumped over the counter and pulled me into a great big hug. 

"Hey Matt, this is my friend Ava, Ava this is my cousin Matt." i said introducing them. i seen Ava staring at him from the corner of my eye, I think she might have been checking him out!!

"Ok now get back to your side of the counter and make us some food!" i said waving him off with my hands. he was definitely staring at Ava too! My mind tends to over think things though, it could have been nothing. 

"Right, what would you like Miss." he said in a professional voice.

After we ate Ava drove me home to get ready for the party. Ava was just going to get ready at my house because her and my sister know each other. I invited Matt to the party because I knew Ava would want to see him again. 

After we got finished drunk proofing the house we all started getting ready. I went to my bedroom to put my clothes on and I added a necklace and some black bracelets. As I made my way out to the main room Cass looked at me like i was crazy. 

"What?" I asked i thought I looked ok.

"I'm doing your hair."  She stated matter-of-factly. 

"Umm ok..." I said, I didn’t think my hair looked that bad, but i guess the party was mostly going to consist of her friends so I better look good.

Ava and Cass pulled me into the bathroom and started attacking my hair, they wouldn’t even let me see until they were finished, and they even did my make-up. When they finished they spun me around to look in the mirror. My hair was curled and it looked amazing! My make-up was done so perfectly it looked professional! I wonder why sister did all this for me. She never does nice things for me! Maybe Ava told her about the Landon thing and she felt sorry for me? Oh well, he doesn’t matter anymore. I am going to have fun tonight and maybe just this once I can forget about Landon…
