It was a warm spring evening on the beach. The sunset was lovely. If couples were around, this would send them romantic feelings. It was perfect for Marin Hanson.
*two hours ago*
Marin had just gotten out of the shower and was getting ready for her big date with Rick Sanchez. They had been seeing each other for a couple of months. Tonight was when Marin would show her most significant interest in life: the ocean.
Marin was twirling around happily in her outfit. She wore a white dress with sky-blue dolphins at the skirt hem, a white straw hat with a black ribbon around her head, and sky-blue flats on her feet. Her blond hair was straightened, with the top half in a downward braid. She had put a lot of work into her look. The only makeup she wore was a little mascara and eyeliner in a small wing and bubbly pink lipgloss. Her cheeks were naturally rosy upon her lightly tan skin.
The phone on the bed rang.
"Hey, Rick," Marin answered happily, bouncing.
"Oh uh, hey," Rick said awkwardly; some distinct moaning from a couple of women could be heard in the background, "where is our date again?"
"The beach, at sunset," Marin said; she was glowing red the more background she heard, "why? What do I hear in the background?"
Marin could feel her heartbreaking.
"Listen, I'm not going to be able to go to our date," Rick burped, "or any more dates in the future. I have been cheating on you for uhhh...two months, maybe three? And you didn't put out. I only dated you because you have some great T&A, and I was on the rebound. You probably were too."
"We have only been together for two months," Marin teared up as she corrected him.
"Shhh, shhh. It's going to be okay. Uh, do you want to break up sex?" Rick asked.
"FUCK NO, YOU ASSHOLE!!!" Marin yelled at him through tears.
Marin threw her phone across the room, busting against the wall; She cried on her bed for the longest.
"I saved myself for him..." Marin teared up, "every time I meet someone nice, they break my heart before we take it to the next level... I'm going to be alone forever. Unless..."
Marin's eyes averted to her desk; She walked towards it, pulled out a letter, and sat on her bed. Marin grabbed her keys and left her home with the house keys inside; With her camera around her neck, she headed to the beach.
As Marin was on the beach, she took pictures of her surroundings; She would go into the ocean and take underwater photography. Marin was happy at this moment; When she ran out of room for her camera's memory, she set her camera down and frowned.
*present time*
Marin buried her head into her knees and cried for the last time. Her hat flew off of her head. After she finished, Marin stood up and slipped her shoes off.
Marin began walking into the ocean; Step by step, she got further into the ocean's depth. Six inches...afoot...two feet...at her knees...to her waist...to her shoulders...
Marin swam to the deepest ends, far away from the shores; She was in open water. She took a moment to take a deep breath as she floated. Marin was relaxed and at peace with her decision.
Finally, Marin dove under the water; She swam as deep as she could. When Marin felt they needed air, Marin opened her mouth, letting the water go in. Marin saw something swimming toward her when she thought she was close to the light.
It was a fish-looking humanoid with slicked-back black hair and yellow eyes on the green sclera. The humanoid wore a red speedo with a golden belt with an N on the buckle like a lightning bolt. He was slender with some muscle; he was like a human with an orange tiger shark's skin with green fish fins on his arms.
When the mysterious creature reached Marin, he planted his icy blue lips upon hers and blew air into her body as he swam her up to the surface. When they reached the surface, she coughed up the water she had consumed, facing away from the man. He held onto her arms as she did so.
"What are you doing in my ocean?!" He said with a regal yet powerful tone.
Marin started crying and was shaking; She was overwhelmed.
"W-why can't I just die?!" Marin cried.
"You wanted to die? Why? And why in my ocean?" He tilted his head. The man refused to let go of her.
"I was born near the ocean, where I choose to die," Marin sniffed, "it's the one place I love."
"What has made you so saddened?" He asked; his tone had gotten softer.
"It doesn't matter. Let go of me and let me die," Marin said solemnly.
"I refuse to do such until you answer me, peasant," he said.
Marin started squirming to try to get away.
He smirked and held her closer.
"I do like a squirmer," he said flirtatiously.
"Let me go! Please!" She said.
"No, you will not try to die in my ocean," he said.
" My ocean,' 'my ocean,'" Marin mocked him.
"Yes, it is my ocean," he said, "do you know who I am?"
"A rapist, maybe?" Marin said.
"I do not have intercourse without consent, maim," he said, "I am Mr. Nimbus! King of the Sea!"
"King of the sea?" Marin asked.
"Yes, who are you?" Nimbus asked.
"My name is Marin, oceanographer of the Seaside Aquarium and Rehabilitation Center," Marin said.
"You're my biggest paparazzi," Nimbus was suddenly excited, "I love your work."
"I want to show the beauty of the ocean that I see through my eyes," Marin shrugged and blushed, "do you want my camera? I took more photos."
"Please??" Nimbus said.
"Sure, I won't need it," Marin said.
Mr. Nimbus waved his body forward and backward. A wave went to shore and picked up the camera, returning it to Mr. Nimbus. Marin couldn't help but feel his noticeable bulge during the entire movement. She blushed lightly.
"Waterproof camera, by the way," Marin said.
"Let's look at the photos together," Nimbus said, "I don't trust you alone."
Mr. Nimbus placed his hand on her cheek, moving her face to his and lifting her chin slightly. Marin was blushing more by then. Mr. Nimbus smirked, kissed her again, and blew air into her body before he dove underwater. Marin held onto him tightly; She could feel him frenching her. In her opinion, Mr. Nimbus was a very sexy and mysterious man.
They arrived at his palace, the castle away from Atlantis thought to have been. Mr. Nimbus got Marin inside, and the inside was not underwater. Atlantis was the only spot in the entire ocean that had breathable air. There was a barrier over the city.
Mr. Nimbus went through a tower window and placed her on a vast bed: it was his bed. It was his bedroom.
Marin was under him but didn't mind; Mr. Nimbus pulled away and loomed over her. She took a deep breath but did enjoy that little make-out session.
"I think we enjoyed that air transfer a bit too much," Nimbus whispered before nibbling her earlobe.
Marin gasped and nodded; this caused her to tremble in arousal.
"My first passionate kiss, actually," Marin said.
"Would you like me to stop," Nimbus pulled away to look at Marin
She thought about everything and then met his gaze.
"You know what? What the hell? I got heartbroken, and I failed suicide. I got nothing to lose," she kissed him back as passionately as he did her.
