Saving Holly

It had been a week since Holly was first controlled by the goon, and the Shane gang were planning another way to try and save her. "It's a good plan, but if it doesn't work, Doc has a high chance of being ghouled...and that'd be game over for us all." Eli murmured. Doc, who was in the table, glanced at Eli with determination in his eye. "...Doc seems willing to risk himself." He said. "Then let's go try to save Holly." Will said. Everyone nodded before heading off.

"Is the project finally done?" The goon asked Blakk. "Yes, but she'll take awhile to wake, I'd say at least a day." Blakk responded, a malicious smirk on his face. "Too bad she couldn't wake now, I can sense the Shane and his friends are on the way." The goon said with annoyance. "We're standing our ground this time, prepare for a fight."

As the Shane gang snuck up to the building, Eli handed Doc over to Trixie. "Wait until you have a clean shot, we'll be able to hold out for awhile." He said. Trixie nodded with determination as she loaded Doc into her blaster. Her, Kord, and Pronto split off and used the invis charge while Eli, Will, and Junjie bursted into the building, immediately firing off their slugs. A Rammstone hit the goon and he hissed in annoyance as he fired off a Hop Jack back at them before taking cover. Blakk started hammering them with ghouls from his gattler and Eli fired off Burpy to deal with them. He used slug-fu and helped Burpy beat most the ghouls, and the ones Burpy and Eli didn't deal with were delt by Junjie or Will. The goon fired off a darkfurnus to try and deal with Burpy, but he easily defeated the ghoul with the help of Eli. The darkfurnus hopped back to the goon while snarling and he groaned in annoyance, realizing this wasn't working. "I wonder, where are those other friends of yours?" The goon questioned, trying to distract them all. "Right here." There was a voice behind him. He turned and saw Trixie's blaster aimed at him and he barely managed to hop off in time before she fired Doc. Doc hit Holly and she passed out as the goon hopped to Blakk. "Grab her and go!" The goon yelled. Blakk and the goon ended up barely making it out and fleeing. "Damnit!" Eli said. "We almost had them..." He said while lowering his head. "Cmon bro! We just saved Holly, and now the goon either has to control Blakk, or no one! Next time we attack, they'll both be done!" Kord exclaimed. Eli glanced over to Holly and saw she was still passed out. "...yea. Doc, can you help her?" Eli asked. Doc nodded before hopping onto Holly and starting to heal her. Kord carried Holly carefully and put her on the back of his mech before everyone took off back to the cabin. Halfway there, Holly slowly blinked her eyes open and groaned in pain. "Ugh...what happened..?" She questioned. She noticed Doc on her, healing her, and got even more confused. "Well, the goon controlled you, then for like a week, then we saved you." Kord said. "A week? When I got hit by the goon, I was expectin a month for y'all to save me, you guys really are awesome." Holly said with a smile. "You're exhausted, just go back to relaxing, we're about halfway back to the cabin." Eli said. Holly shook her head and sat up somewhat. "No way! I'm back to bein myself, and I wanna enjoy my home caverns again." She said.

By time everyone had gotten back to the cabin, Holly was dozing off. Doc had healed her as much as he could and hopped back to Eli. "Thanks Doc, you saved me big time." Holly said with a thumbs up. Everyone walked into the cabin and Holly sat on the couch with a sigh. "So, when did you get your dad back..?" Holly questioned Eli. "Well, like 3 days ago, we tried for the first time to save you, and it didn't work out to well, but somehow my dad escaped and he met up with us." Eli said. Holly smiled as her slugs hopped on her, playing games with each other and chatting away. "Well, I guess it's good that first attempt failed, otherwise the goon would probably be controllin your dad again." She said. She glanced at her slugs and saw Remi chatting with Flare and had a mini flashback to the moments before the goon had hit her. All she could see was Remi being ghouled and her doing nothing. She shook her head to clear the memory and sighed. "You alright?" Eli asked her. "I-I don't know...so much has happened in the past week, and it feels like I can barely keep up..." She said, tears forming in her eyes. Eli gave her a hug and she basically melted into it, crying a bit but holding most of it in. "I-I'm sorry for just dumping that on you...I should probably just sleep, that'll help...I hope..." She muttered. She got up and went to her room before collapsing on her bed and crying. Flare and Remi nuzzled her face to comfort her until she eventually fell asleep, tears still in her eyes.
