Traumatized people

Holly woke up with a yawn and stretched before getting out of bed. She put on some slippers and headed down to the kitchen to make everyone breakfast. 'It's the least I can do, considerin they're helpin me save my caverns.' She thought as she pulled out a pan. She went and made some scrambbled eggs for everyone and grabbed her plate. She peeked into the living room and saw Eli passed out on the couch. 'Knew it would've either been him or Junjie, us cavern protectors are way too nice.' She thought as she went back into the kitchen. She sat at the table and ate her breakfast before placing the plate in the sink. She groaned at the realization that she'd have to do the dishes sooner or later. 'Damn you dishes, my worst ene-' Her thoughts were cut off by a yell coming from the living room. She rushed in to see Eli wide awake and having a panic attack. She went up to him and helped him calm down. "Eli, follow my breathin okay, in...and out." She kept this going until he finally calmed down. "You good man?" Holly asked. He shook his head. "...Maybe? Im not sure..." He murmured. "Well, I'm not sure if it'll help much, but I made breakfast. Here let me get you a plate." She then went back to the kitchen, grabbed a plate, and brought it to him so he could eat. "Now I'll go wake the others, we have a lot of distress calls to deal with today." Holly said. She went through the spare rooms waking everyone, and Junjie was the only one seemingly willing to wake up, as everyone else groaned in annoyance or something similar. After Holly had woken everyone up they all came down and ate. Remi hopped up on Holly's head as she sat down and she let out a little 'woah' in concern. "Remi, cmon now, you're gonna fall if you keep doin that." Holly said as she gently picked Remi up and put her on the counter. Remi pouted but hopped away. Holly looked up and saw Eli had been watching the interaction. She smiled at him as he walked in and put his plate in the sink. "I'm curious, why Remi?" He asked. "Well, it sounds like 'remedy' and she's saved my ass by healin me many times." Holly said. "So why not use her to heal your leg?" He asked. "My leg isn't bad anymore, and I'd prefer to save her energy for an emergency." She said while getting up. Eli nodded in understanding and they both walked out the kitchen and into the living room. Holly folded up the blanket and put it back on the arm rest before sitting down on the couch. 2 Polero slugs came up to her and hopped on her lap, one of them being a megamorph. "Emily, Evan! You twins been havin fun lately?" She asked them. They both nodded and Holly pet them. Eli sat down next to her and smiled. "So, why do you have so many slugs but only use around 30 of them?" Eli asked. "Oh, well a lot of em are family of my main guys, and I didn't wanna separate em, so I took em all in and take care of em!" She said with a grin. The Polero's hopped on her shoulders and let out little chirps of joy. Holly pet them again while everyone else finished their breakfast. Finally everyone was ready to go and they all hopped on their mechabeasts. "First thing, let's get the people of Icespikes cavern back in their homes." Holly said. Everyone spent the day going around caverns helping people out and fighting lackeys from the goon and Blakk, but they never saw either of them. The lackeys were unknown people, for the most part, to Holly but she did recognize some of them as people her and her mom had fought in the past. "And now that Heart cavern is doin better, it's time to make a pit stop." Holly said as they rode out the town. Everyone gave her a confused glance and she smirked.

As everyone rode into the town of Gemstone cavern, they all looked around in awe, even Holly. "I always forget how beautiful it is here until I see it again." She said. "But, that isn't the only reason why I brought you here." She added. They all rode up to a building and hopped off their mechabeasts. Holly knocked on the door and called out to someone inside. "Yo Star! I'm back!" She called out. A girl with bright yellow hair and eyes opened the door and immediately bear hugged Holly. "Great guardian slugs I thought you died or something! I heard about the attack on the cabin and didn't know if you made it!" Star said. "Hey woah, don't hug me to death-!" Holly said. Star let go and noticed the rest of the Shane gang. "Who are they?" She asked. "Well, I got the Shane gang from the 99 caverns, and the eastern champion was with em." Holly said. They all waved awkwardly. "Okay guys, this is Star, my best friend and mechanic. Star, this Eli, Kord, Trixie, Pronto, and Junjie." She said while pointing to each person as she said their name. Everyone was let inside and Holly explained everything to Star. "...Shit, you're gonna need all the gear you can get." Star said. Holly sighed. "I know, that's why I brought em all here, let's get em all the stuff they need." After awhile, everyone had gotten a bunch of new gear and headed back to the cabin.

Holly collapsed on the couch with a sigh of relief and relaxed while Eli sat next to her. "...Umm, about this morning-" He started, but Holly cut him off. "No problem, you're literally helpin me save my home, the least I can do is help you with a panic attack." She said. "Now, I think it's time everyone goes and sleeps, we still need to deal with a few distress calls...and find out where the goon and Blakk are hidin out..." She muttered the last part. Eli looked upset and Holly gave him a hug. "Hey, we'll free your dad from the goon, I promise." She said. That helped Eli a bit, but he still was definitely upset. "Alright everyone! Let's hit the hay, we'll spend most of tomorrow findin where the goon and Blakk are hidin out!" Holly called out through the cabin. Everyone went to their rooms and Eli stayed on the couch. Holly changed into some pyjamas and yawned. Flare hopped on her shoulder and let out a chirp. "Hey, at least if we find where the goon and Blakk are, we'll be able to see if that 'project' really has somethin to do with mom's body..." Holly muttered as she layed down in her bed. Flare curled up next to her and let out a little 'goodnight' chirp before closing her eyes. "Night..." Holly murmured before closing her eyes and falling asleep almost immediately.
