"Hunt? Why would they ask you if you like to hunt?" I heard Tatum exclaim loudly as i trudged slowly over to a fountain the group sat around. I sat down on the edge, next to a gangly guy I'd never seen before. He smiled sweetly at me and moved over so i had more room. "I don't know, they just did." Stu said shrugging his shoulders, carelessly. The guy next to me leaned towards Stu. "Because their bodies were gutted!" He exclaimed. I flinched slightly, picking at the skin around my thumb. "Thanks, Randy." Billy said, harshly. I didn't dare look over at Billy after our argument a few hours prior, but I could feel the harsh daggers of his eyes staring at me. Tatum looked confused. "They didn't ask me if I liked to hunt." She said wonderingly looking at Randy to give her a satisfactory answer. "Beacuse there's no way a girl could have killed them." Stu answered instead. She looked at her boyfriend with disgust. "That is so sexist! The killer could easily be female- BASIC INSTINCT." She huffed, annoyed. "That was an ice pick. Not exactly the same." Randy mumbled under his breath. Stu nodded. "Yeah Steve and Casey were completely hollowed out. Takes a man to do that." Stu stated, knowing he would get a reaction out of Tatum. "Or a man's mentality." I whispered, rolling my eyes.
Sydney's face grew white. "How do you gut someone?" She croaked quietly, almost as if she were talking to herself. I glanced over at Sydney sat by Billy, his arm wrapped around her waist. There was a serious silence. "You take a knife and slit from the groin to the sternum." Stu broke the silence. Sydney shivered in her denim jacket. Stu raised his arms at the groups' expressions. "What? She asked." He said grumpily, looking over at Billy. "It's called tact, fuckrag." Billy groaned at Stu, giving him a hard stare as if he was warning him about something. I felt the tension rise in the group, as I moved around uncomfortably on the fountain wall. "Sorry." Stu murmured, quickly shutting up. "Remember in JAWS when they caught the wrong shark at first and Richard Dreyfuss cut it open to to look for body parts and all they found was a license plate and all this milky white goo-" Randy began to rant, not reading the awkward tension in the air. Stu smacked him gentely on the back of the head. "You heard Billy. Shut the fuck up." He hissed to him, glancing over at my unconsious pained expression. "Hey Stu, didn't you used date Casey?" Sydney piped up wanting to change the subject. I nodded despite most of the group forgetting I was there. Stu looked a little off guard and his eyes flickered over to me, sat by Randy. I stared back at him, not breaking eye contact. He better be very wise about what he says about her, I thought. He looked away and back at Sydney. "For about to seconds." He laughed. I clenched my teeth together. He didn't care that she was dead. "Before she dumped him for Steve." I spat loudly, making everyone turn around and look over at me. I smirked as Stu threw a dirty look my way. Got him. Tatum looked suprised and turnt to look at her boyfriend. "I thought you dumped her for me.". Stu laughed awkwardily. "Yeah, I did. She's so full of shit." He joked. I rolled my eyes and playfully stuck my middle finger up at him. "And are the police aware you dated the victim?" Randy asked Stu, interestedly. Stu moved around uncomfortabliy and glanced over at Billy. "What are you saying? That I like killed her or something?" He asked sounding offended. I giggled quietly. "It would certainly improve your high school Q." I snickered. Randy laughed as Stu's face fell at my remark. Tatum squeezed Stu's hand. "Stu was with me last night." She snapped at me, protecting her boyfriend. "Ooo... before or after he sliced and diced." Randy carried on. I put my hand to my mouth, trying not to laugh to loudly. I knew I shouldn't have found it funny, but something was making me. Tatum glared at him. "Fuck you, nut case. Where were you last night?" She hissed over to him. "Working, thank you." He replied, sounding slightly overconfident. "I thought blockbuster fired you." Tatum pointed out. "Twice." Randy said sounding unusally proud of his unacheivement. "I didn't kill anybody." Stu moaned, slightly behind on the coversation. "Nobody's saying you did." Billy blurted over the top of him. I watched both Billy and Stu. There was a strange vibe lurking around them, something that just didn't add up. Billy was constantly throwing warning signals over to Stu, possibly telling him to stop fooling around. "Besides-" Randy carried on, cutting off my trail of thought. "Takes a man to do something like that." He mimicked Stu. "I'm gonna gut your ass in a second." Stu warned him, playfully punching him on the back. "Did you really put her liver in the mailbox? I hear they found her liver in the mailbox ." Randy whispered to him. "Randy, you goon-fuck, im eating here." Tatum exclaimed looking over at Sydney's horrified expression, then showing him her box of grapes. "Yeah Randy, she's getting mad. You better liver her alone!" He howled, cracking up at his own stupid joke. The group moaned quietly to themselves. I began to feel slightly dizzy so pinched my arm to focus clearer. Billy watched me intensely, giving me a concerned look. What was with this guy?
