I woke up to the sound of the window sliding open and a flood of light entering the . I rolled over groggily in bed, feeling the side which Billy had laid on. It was still warm but nobody was there. I sat up and rubbed my eyes, looking around for my glasses. Once my vision focused I saw Billy about it climb through the window. "Don't go..." I whispered, my voice breaking slightly from not speaking for a while. He turned around and faced me. "Sorry I didn't mean to wake you up" He apologised. I patted the space where he had fallen asleep, beckoning him back over. He shook his head and climbed back through the window. "You've got two hours till school...get some rest." He kissed my forehead. I huffed and pulled my duvet around me, watching him climb back out of the window. He gave me a little wave from the window and got on his bike and cycled away.

*TIME SKIP TO THE NEXT EVENING CUZ IMMA LAZY ASS*

"Nooooooooooo! No Randy the first Back to the future is superior! Why would you think the last one?" I cried, jumping around him in Blockbuster. He was supposed to be working but we ended up in an argument over 80s movies. " It just is you know? The cowboys- the whole plot is genius." He tried to convince me but failed. I walked away from him and went towards the Tom Cruise section. Yes they had a whole row dedicated to him for those damn simps like me. I'd watched practically all of them but still decided to pick a few up and chuck them into my basket. Randy followed me round the shop, occasionally bumping into me. "Have you watched Rain man?" I asked him, shoving a VHS tape into his hands. "Nope." He said, turning it over to look at the description on the back. "Sounds good." He mumbled, half way through reading it. I laughed, picking up Cocktail and putting it with my other tapes. As I went to the till to pay, there was a loud knock on the window. I turned to look outside and saw Tatum waving wildly at me from the street. I waved back and showed her my collection of tapes. Her eyes widened and she hurried inside. I gave the lady at the till my money and walked over to greet Tatum, Randy hurriedly following behind still. "Hey! What you both  doing here?" Tatum said noticing Randy at my side. "Randy was helping me find some good films." I explained, gesturing to my stack of Tom Cruise films. Tatum peered inside, as if she didn't believe me. "I thought you didn't like Tom, Randy?" She said, suspiciously looking at him. "Never said that. But I never said I liked him either." He said putting his hands on his hips. Tatum rolled her eyes and turned to me, ignoring Randy. "You wanna come round to mine? I was just going to pick up some movies to watch after I pick up Sydney from her place." She asked, sounding as if she really wanted me to come. I thought for a moment. I'd been trying to blank Sydney all day because of the guilt that I had from being with Billy the previous night. "Sure thing!" I smiled. "Well we've got a good selection." I laughed. Tatum giggled and began to walk towards the shop door. "See ya later, Randy." She said dully. "Bye Randy!" I called after Randy, eagerly following Tatum to her car. He waved back at me and watched us leave from the shop window.

I flung my bag of vhs tapes into the back of Tatum's red car and sat next to her in the passenger seat. We sat in silence as she started up the car and pulled out of the parking lot. "So... you and Randy, hey?" She suddenly said. I raised my eyebrows. " What about me and Randy?" I asked, confused. She laughed and said "You like him!" I coughed on air and laughed. "No no, not like that!" I giggled. Tatum laughed as well. "Oh god. Sorry!" I waved her away. "It's fine." Tatum flicked on her car lights, realising they weren't on and it was hard to see down the tight country lanes. "Can I ask you something?" I asked her, staring out the window at the slow tractor in front of us. " Fire away, we're gonna be here for ages." She replied, beeping her horn loudly at it. "What's the deal with Sydney and Billy?" I looked at her blunt expression through the dim lit car. She huffed. " She might not want you to know this so don't tell her I told you. So,Sydney's mum was raped and murdered last year by some guy called Cotton Weary . Because of the trauma that gave her, she doesn't feel comfortable having sex with anyone." She explained, her face turning slightly regretful after she said it. "Oh..." I whispered quietly and looked away out into the darkness looming outside. Tatum smacked her hand down on the steering wheel. BEEEEEEEPPPP! She angrily rolled her window down. " PULL OVER YOU DIMSHIT AND LET ME PASS! I NEED TO GET TO MY FRIEND'S!" She yelled furiously. The tractor pulled into a passing place and let her drive pass, the driver giving us the middle finger as we went passed. "WELL THAT'S REAL MATURE MISTER!" Tatum screamed as we went pass.

A few minutes later we drove down Sydney's drive to her house. I peered closer through the window, seeing flashing blue lights. "Wait what's that?" I pointed out. A policeman jumped out in front of the car, making Tatum slam the breaks on. She rolled down the window. " What's going on?" She asked concerned. "Had another incident. Could you please turn around and go home?" The policeman asked politely. My face went white as I noticed an ambulance pull up beside the house. Tatum must have seen it too because she suddenly flew out of the car, pushing the policeman out of the way. I held my breath, hoping Sydney was in one piece and opened the car door. I heard someone screaming something "I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING! WHERE'S SYD, SYD? ASK HER SHE'LL TELL YOU!" I walked round the corner, blinded by the flashing lights and saw Billy being wrestled into a police car. I held my hand over my mouth. Billy saw me staring in shock and called over to me. "KENZIE! I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!" His voice broke off as he was shoved into the back of the police car. I jumped away from the car as he began to bang on the window at me. Another car pulled up beside the one Billy was in and one of the police officers opened the door. "We got him Sheriff. Billy Loomis." He said, sounding accomplished. A senior policeman climbed out of the car. " Hank Loomis' kid? Jesus Christ" he replied, dabbing his sweaty forehead with a matted tissue. "He's her boyfriend." The other officer added and tapped the police car holding Billy in to move along. "I was the first to respond." He carried on. I stumbled away from the flurry of police cars and went towards the ambulance, where Sydney sat shaking with a blanket pulled over her. "Sydney!" I exclaimed, seeing that she was alright. Physically that was. "Jesus Christ..." I whispered sitting the other side of her. "I'm so sorry I was late." Tatum cried to Sydney, pulling her into a hug. Sydney didn't say anything, she was too caught up in what had happened to acknowledge anyone. The two police officers I'd seen a few seconds before walked towards us three, sat on the edge of the van. "What are you doing here?" Asked the younger policeman to Tatum. "You can't be here. It's an official crime scene." Sydney coughed quietly looking up at the policemen. "It's ok her and Mackenzie were supposed to pick me up." She said her voice cracking. "Dewey, her Dad's out of town. Mum said she could stay with us." Tatum explained annoyed. Dewey, the police officer held his forehead briefly. "Does Mum know?" He asked. Tatum rolled her eyes. "Yes, doofus." The senior officer, Sheriff Burke looked over at the house's long drive away. From there you could see a group of headlights heading our way. "The vultures are coming. Let's get you out off here." He said holding a hand out to help Sydney down off the ambulance. She ignored his hand and got off herself, trailing off with Dewey and Sheriff Burke. I exchanged a worried glance with Tatum and we began to rush back to her car. "IS THAT MACKENZIE STARR?" A female voice yelled at me from a short distance. Shit it was that news reporter, Gale Weathers. Tatum fumbled around trying to put the key into the car door. "Jesus the camera- hurry!" I heard her say, not to far away from me. "Tatum come on..." I murmured over to her. " I'm trying!" She snapped. "Mackenzie! Was that Sydney Prescott they just took away?" Gale asked, appearing behind me holding her microphone. "We don't know." Tatum said for me, finally unlocking the car door. We both jumped inside, ignoring her. "What happened to her?" Gale questioned us loudly. "I'm not talking to you." I hissed and slammed my door shut. Tatum started the car and we raced down the driveway, trying to keep up with the line of police cars.
