3rd POV:

She hears footsteps outside the door but no one opens it.

"Henry...Please we have to go before it closes." She says.

"Go." A voice on the other side of the door says.

"What?" She brokenly whispers, hoping she heard wrong.

"Go." Henry says again.

"Not without you." She says.

"You will die if you stay here, Ivy. It's killing you. You have to leave." He tells her.

"No! I promised I would bring you home so we could live together like a family." She says, tears teetering on her waterline.

"I can't leave, not yet. But I will make it back to you, Ivy. I promise. I will find you. For now we can talk in your dreams." He tells her. "Now, go."

Ivy reluctantly climbs through the portal. Her body getting covered in slime and gunk as she goes.

------------

Ivy makes it out of the portal, pulling herself out using the floorboards. Getting out she saw that she was still in the house but she was back in Hawkins, she hoped.

She got up, tears running down her face at the fact that Henry didn't come with her, and she rushed to the door. She opened it and ran around the house, screaming out Henry's name knowing that he can hear her but she never got a reply.

Ivy collapsed on the floor in the living room, crying her eyes out. She was so close to him but she never saw him and she only got to speak to him as she was leaving. She wished she could have hugged him and he would tell her that it was all going to be okay, just like he used to in the lab.

-----------

A few hours later, as the sun was rising, she finally moved from her curled up position.

She walked to the door and she noticed that it was boarded up from the outside. She went to the kitchen and saw one of the windows open slightly and she climbed out of it.

The sunlight blinded her vision for a minute but after blinking a lot her eyes adjusted to it. It was weird enough being outside for the first time in months but also the sunlight was something she hadn't experienced in a long time. It made her realise how much she missed it.

Ivy stumbled her way into the woods, not knowing these parts of the woods so she aimlessly walked around. She never knew how long she was walking for but when she came out of the woods she came out in the High School.

There were other teenagers everywhere and they were carrying trays. She looked around and saw a fluffy flop of hair that she had missed terribly. Steve.

He looked at her but then shook his head and looked away again. He kept seeing the ginger beauty everywhere but that was just in his head. However, this time when he looked up she looked different to how he usually sees her. This time she is covered in gunk and slime and her skin is even paler then it was when he last saw her.
