Chapter 11

Leo and Raph were in the dojo, training as usual when Donnie rushed into the room.

"Check it out, guys! We are about to take our ninjutsu to a whole new level!"

"Cool," Leo replied before sweeping his leg under Raph's, knocking him on his shell.

"Last night, I figured out how to make ninja smoke bombs!" Donnie smashed one of the eggs on the ground and disappeared, reappearing behind his brothers.

The two turned and looked at Donnie in shock.

"Now, to make 'em, I carefully drill two holes in an eggshell without cracking it, slowly blow out the contents, wait for the inside to dry, then pour in flash powder and seal both holes with wax," Donnie explained as he held up one of the eggs.

"Blah, blah, science, blah. Do it again!" Raph begged.

"What I'm trying to tell you guys is, they take a long time to make, so use them sparingly," Donnie clarified.

"I'm making breakfast! Who wants omelets?" Mikey called from the kitchen.

"Omelets? Mikey, don't!" Donnie warned.

There was a crash from the kitchen and Mikey groaned, walking into the dojo with purple powder all over his face.

"Uh, I think that was a rotten egg," Mikey complained.

"Those aren't eggs, Mikey. They're ninja smoke bombs," Donnie explained and Mikey's jaw hit the floor.

"Shut up," he said before smashing one on the ground and reappearing in the tree. "This is the best day of my life!"

"Mikey, stop!"

"I love you, man. Seriously," Mikey gushed as he hugged his brother.

"Guys!"

The four turtles all ran to the living room after hearing April.

"Guys, you'll never believe what happened to me," April said as she sat down on the couch.

"All right, April, calm down. Are you okay?" Donnie asked as he sat beside her.

"I am being hunted by a giant pigeon!" April replied in horror.

Raph burst out laughing but stopped when he noticed no one else was laughing. "I can't be the only one who finds that funny."

"It's not funny, Raph. There's a creature out there trying to hurt my April!" Donnie scolded before pausing. "Our April. April."

"This is serious. I'd better get Splinter," Mikey said as he lifted up a smoke bomb.

Leo looked to Mikey quickly. "We don't really need-"

Mikey disappeared in a cloud of purple smoke before Splinter appeared.

"Michelangelo said you wanted to see me?" The man said as he walked over.

"I was just walking down the street, and he flew at me. I hid in a bank to get away from him. His talons were razor sharp. He would have torn me to pieces if he hadn't slammed into the glass," April explained and Raph chuckled again, but he was still the only one.

"Really? Just me?" Raph questioned in shock.

"Raphael! Clearly April is upset," Splinter scolded as he knocked Raph with his cane.

"Yeah, dude, that's so insensitive. Do you need a tissue?" Mikey asked April with a smile.

"I think I'm okay," she replied.

"I'll get you a tissue," he insisted before disappearing with a smoke bomb again, reappearing moments later. "We don't have any tissues. Can I make you some soup?"
