Chapter 15

Leo ran out into the street to see the van with April and Sofia driving away.

"No! We're too late!" Donnie cried.

Leo gripped his T-phone. "Sofi?! April?! Are you there?!"

"They're not gonna answer, Leo. What do we do?" Donnie panicked as he started pacing, worried about his precious red haired princess.

"We gotta get them out of that van, but- but Dogpound's in there, and we're not ready to fight that guy!" Leo held his head, realizing how screwed they were. "Aw, Splinter was right! We should've stayed below!"

"Can't believe I'm gonna say this," Raph grumbled to himself before he turned to Leo. "Get it together, Captain! You're our leader! So act like one!"

Leo stiffened, immediately recognizing the reference to Space Heroes. "You're right, Raph. That was the anxiety ray talking."

"What, that's it? You're not gonna slap yourself?" Raph joked as he crossed his arms.

"Psh," Leo brushed it off. "Let's save Sofia."

"Uh, and April!" Donnie reminded with a grimace.

"And April!" Leo agreed, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly.

"And our home," Raph added.

"But we'll never catch him on foot," Donnie pointed out.

"We're not going on foot," Leo replied with a grin.

"This is rad!" Mikey cheered as he threw his arms up.

They flew down the street in the patrol buggy Donnie had been working on.

"It's not ready!" Donnie complained with worry.

"This thing is awesome! Does it have a radio?"

"No, it doesn't have a radio!" Donnie glared at Mikey. "I'm telling you it's not ready!"

"Seems ready to me," Leo shot back before his steering wheel came loose. His eyes widened before he popped it back on. "Eh, okay, don't pull on that, and we'll be fine."

They flung around turns as they sped to intercept the tanker that Shredder's men were hijacking. They found the tanker and Leo narrowed his eyes.

"Raph, get ready," Leo warned as they drove straight towards the oncoming tanker.

Raph looked at Leo with confusion. "For what?"

"This!"

Leo pulled a lever and the two halves of the patrol buggy split in half, both going around the tanker and then spinning to follow it.

"Leo! You could've been a little more specific!" Raph growled as he drove beside his brother.

"Where's the fun in that?" Leo joked. "Get ready."

Donnie saw the warning and label on the back of the tanker and his eyes widened. "Chlorosulfonic acid? Leo, I think I figured out Shredder's plan! That acid reacts violently with water!"

Leo realized what was about to happen. "So if he dumps it in the sewer-"

"It'll all be incinerated in seconds, including the lair!" Donnie finished.

"And Splinter! We gotta stop them. Donnie! You and Raph stay with the van and save April. Mikey, you're coming with me. We have to stop that tanker!" Leo ordered.

"Uh, if you haven't noticed, I'm stuck with Raph?" Mikey reminded.

Raph smirked at that and grabbed hold of a lever. "No problem." He yanked the lever which released Mikey's part of the buggy. "Well, that was fun!"
