The morning sunshine comes through my curtains. I sigh and roll onto my back.
Another morning.
Suddenly there's a knock on my door.
"I'm getting up!" I call out.
The door opens and reveals... My twin brother.
Marco.
I sit up and glare at him.
"Where the hell were you, yesterday?"
"I stayed at uncle Gabriel's." He says coming to sit on my bed.
"And then didn't come to school?" I raise my brow. "Mami's gonna kill you."
"Relax, I got him to call the school." He rolls his eyes.
"Well if she finds out you keep skipping school, she's gonna start walking you to the door."
"I can handle Mami. Now get up regordeta." He says leaving the room.
Regordeta.
It's been Marco's nickname for me, for years. I hate it.
It basically means 'chubby'. Everyone thinks it's cute.
But it just makes me want to punch him in the face.
He's basically the bad kid. But I'm pretty sure he's abuela's favorite. All the girls at school love him.
You wouldn't believe how many girls have approached me and asked if he's single.
Like ew.
We get along pretty well though. We're like any other siblings and I hate his guts. But I also love him and know he'll always be here if I need him.
We have two things in common. We like girls and we hate school.
I'm sure that's not all but... That's pretty much all.

Me and Lauren are sitting at our table in the cafeteria.
She's sitting there eating carrot sticks and I'm just scrolling on my phone.
"Are you seriously not gonna eat anything?"
"I hate cafeteria food." I gag.
"So do I. But you literally never eat at school. You're gonna pass out one of these days."
I just shrug.
"Ooh, maybe RJ will come to your rescue." She smirks.
"Shut up." I laugh and roll my eyes.
A guy starts approaching our table.
"Hey, Lauren." He tries sitting down.
"No." She waves him away.
