Chapter 50: a walk with lupin

Later that day, me and Harry were walking with professor lupin on the bridge.

"Professor can I ask you something?" Harry asked quietly.

"you want to know why I tried to stop you from facing that boggart, dont you? Well that is before Miss Weasley got there before me" he spoke "i thought it would be obvious as i presumed it would take the shape of lord voldemort."

"I did think of voldemort first, but then i remembered that night on the train, and the dementor" Harry spoke as we all came to a stop halfway up the bridge. 

"Ah very impressed, that suggests that what you fear the most is fear itself, This is very wise." Professor Lupin declared.

"before i fainted, i heard something, a woman screaming."

"ah yes dementors force us to relive even our worst memories. our suffering becomes their power."

"i think it was my mother, the night she was murdered." Harry mentioned. i took the opportunity to look at professor lupin, a look of rememberence crossed over his face as he stared at the Hogwarts grounds. 

"you know the very first time i saw you harry, i recognised you immediately, not by your scar. But by your eyes, they are your mother Lily's. Yes, oh yes i knew her. " He said as he crossed sides of the bridge to look over the other side. "your mother was there for me at a time when no one else was, not only was she a singularly gifted witch, but she was also uncommonly kind. She had a way of seeing the beauty in others. Even actually, especially perhaps when that person could not see it in themselves." Harry smiled as i placed a hand on the arm closest to me. 

"Now your father on the other hand-" professor lupin paused as he chuckled "he had a certain how you say talent for trouble, talent rumor has it that he passed onto you." he walked back over towards us; his eyes focusing on my hand on Harry's arm which i quickly retracted noticing his heavy eyes. My cheeks flushed red. "you're more like them than you know, in time you'll come to see just how much." he finished as we all shared a smile.
