Chapter 10

Derek Shepherd

"Why did Cristina say to you?" I ask holding Meredith in bed both of us naked after lots of sex.

"I don't even know she was talking nonsense" she says laying her head on my chest.

"Okay" I whisper though I am very curious.

"It really doesn't matter that much I'll call her back later" she says.

"Okay baby" I kiss her forehead gently and she smiles at me.

"I love you, you know that?" she says.

"I do know that" I say.

"And you love me" she says.

"I do yes I do love you so much" I say with a nod.

"Okay, good good" she says before grabbing her phone that she has been avoiding.

I really thought she was going to tell me. "She left lots of voicemails" she says.

"She did" I say kissing her head.

She starts listening to them and I kind of stop listening until I hear my name and then murderer, which technically I am a murderer. Meredith is going ask if it is true and I can't lie to her she's my baby, my future wife, my literal everything I can't lose her but I also can never lie to her.

"Derek" she whispers.

"Hm" I hum.

"Did you hear that?" she asks I see a tear fall down her face.

"Yes" I nod my eyes tearing up at the sight of her crying but I will not cry I blink away my tears and watch her.

"Is it true?" She asks sitting up and moving away a little but I hold her hand.

"Is what true?" I act stupid.

"Is it true that you go out and kill random people for fun?" she asks.

"No that's not true" I say.

"Why would Cristina lie to me about that?" she says.

"She was partially telling the truth" I whisper.

"What do you mean Derek you're scaring me!" she yells with a sob.

"Meredith I don't go and kill random people for fun I'm not a monster" I say our hands still connected.

"Then what do you do Derek, you're killing people either way" she cries.

"You know everyone who hurts you Meredith, all your high school bullies Nick Marsh and other people who have hurt you are the people I kill, I kill people because I hate seeing you hurt Meredith" I say as she pulls her hand away from me.

"It isn't my fault they are dead" she says.

"I never said that baby, I hate seeing you hurt and they were scared of me but that wouldn't keep them away from you just me yelling at them Meredith I had to keep them away from you permanently and you're life has been so amazing, our life has been so amazing" I say.

"Derek" she whispers.

"God Meredith it hurts me to see others disrespecting you, it makes me angry when others talk down to you, I love you so so much Meredith I gave them chances I gave them strikes but if they hurt you too many times it was their time to go" I say.

"You only killed them because they disrespected me" she whispers.

"Yes I would never kill a poor civilian for fun Meredith" I say standing up as she stands up.

"Derek I really don't know what to do in this situation" she says.

"Oh Meredith if you're scared of me please don't be I could never hurt you that's the last thing I could ever do to you, if you want me to stop killing those people I will Meredith it will be hard but I will if that's what you want from me I will do anything as long as we are together and happy, Love we're engaged we are going to get married please don't leave me" I beg kneeling in front of her if I were to lose her I don't think I could last even one day.

"I believe you Derek, god I love you but you will get caught and then they will take you away and maybe even arrest me for helping you cover it up oh Derek I can't lose you to a prison" she says making me stand up and she hugs me.

"They won't find me as long as Cristina doesn't turn me in, and Meredith I promise the will not lay a finger on you do you understand" I whisper.

"Yes" she nods.

"Good, don't let this come in between us you can still tell me about your day, I don't kill people that annoy you unless they do it everyday all the time okay please don't be scared of me, come lay down with me and we can sleep" I say tucking her hair behind her ear.

"Okay, but how am I supposed to react to this" she says as we crawl back into our bed.

"However you want baby you can be angry with me you can hit me anything you'd like" I say softly as she lets me hold her.

"I think it's sweet, in a sick and twisted way, it's sweet and I love you for it" she whispers kissing my chin and hugging me.

"Go to sleep darling, I love you as well" I say kissing her nose and she closes her eyes and eventually she falls asleep.

I expected her to blow up and hurt me and then kick me out of the house and break off the engagement, but she didn't, she is more than perfect. She is definitely the one for me and always will be no matter what.

I don't know if you guys would rather have her break up with him but I assumed this would be better for you guys or I can make them break up don't say it's too late she could be just in a post sex haze or we could keep them happy and they don't break up.
