Back on the Aratrum, Peach and the Central committee learn about the recent events.
Peach: Wait, Captain Toad was killed in action?!
Bleck: Yes. According to rank, the command is falling to me.
Toad: You think you can handle it?
Bleck: Please understand, since this is an emergency, I'll need to reassign a subordinate who has disobeyed military regulations in the past.
Peach: Well, at this point, it's fine. Just bring back as many people as you can.
Bleck: I'll see what I can do.
Back at Earth, Mario and Bowser go to Grodus and Yoshi to see the recording on Godzilla.
Mario: Have you analyzed the data Yoshi sent?
Grodus: Just finished. The output of the electromagnetic meta material has been recorded. Just as you surmised, the shield exists. I'm surprised we didn't catch onto this before.
Bowser: What about the noise?
Grodus: We can confirm the noise in question. However, it's not unified across its body, but on a single spot where it's concentrated. Here.
Luigi: The middle dorsal fin?
Mario: Then that's where the shield is generated. And Captain Toad gave his life to give us this knowledge.
Luigi: Rest In Peace, old friend. Rest In Peace.
As Mario and Luigi salute to the tank that Captain Toad was in, Bleck gets on top of an artillery.
Bleck: Ladies, Gentlemen, others, during the last encounter, Captain Toad died an honorable death. So, as I'm the direct priest of the Central committee, command of this mission has fallen to me. However, I cannot say that I am the best man for this job. All people are born to accept the task they were meant to complete. So it has been established in our scriptures, and as I shoulder the burden of a priest, I cannot turn my back to this truth. I accepted that burden a long time ago. So, as I am now responsible for the execution of this mission, I shall henceforth and entrust all decision making.........to our new commander, Captain Mario.
Luigi: What?!
Bowser: Hold up, what?
Bleck: Now, then, Mario. Your orders?
Daisy: But that's insane! He doesn't have-
Mario suddenly begins walking to Bleck, as if he accepted this job he's been passed down to by one of his closest friends. Blumiere's followers watch on, although disappointed that he's not the commander, they accept Mario. He gets up and stands next to Blumiere, before making his speech.
