Ugh, school. Here we go, at least I have training.
I did my usual morning routine which was showering leaving my hair to dry, brushing my teeth, applying a little bit of lip gloss but no makeup and wearing the first thing I spot in my closet, which is black high waisted shorts and a baggy top. I smile at myself in the mirror and head down stairs. I pick up an apple and kiss mum good morning
“Hey sweetie” she said
“Hey mum.”
“why don’t you have a proper meal for breakfast” she said while gesturing to the apple I was biting out of.
“Because I don’t eat much in the mornings” I said
“Okay well I’m going to work now, Brodie already left 10 minutes ago.”
“yeah that’s okay I’m taking the bike anyway.”
“I really hate bikes” mum argues
“Yeah I know you do, but I love them.”
“You father likes them too.” She says, then I think she realised what she said and she just whispered “I’m so sorry Luce”
“No that’s okay, we can’t avoid talking about him all the time.” I whisper.
She hugs me tightly and wipes a tear away from my eye, which I didn’t even know I had.
“I have to go now, see you when I get home.”
“Alright sweetie, have fun at school.”
I walked the house with my backpack on and saw Jacks pulling up to the driveway. And of course that’s when my heart stopped and I felt the butterflies in my stomach.
I feel like a stupid little girl.
“Hey Luce” jacks grins that gorgeous smile.
“Hey, umm Brodie already left”
He smiled and said “yeah I know, I’m here for you.”
My heart skipped a beat “F-For me?” uh stuttering again!
He laughed and said “yes for you.”
I smiled and said “why?”
He just smiled and said “To take you to school”
“but I have a bike?”
“yes I know that.”
