Mia's POV:
When I arrived at Ashley's place, I saw Michael standing there waiting patiently. I was about to keep driving but I knew he had already seen me. 'Keep calm Mia, you are strong, you can do this, just keep ignoring him and don't let anything he says get to you.'
I got off my motorcycle and took my helmet off. In an instance he was by my side. I sighed and said "What do you want now?"
He grinned and ignored my question. Instead he said "Nice face."
I pushed past him, disgusted by him and said "Whatever."
He grabbed my arm and said "Don't walk away from me."
I looked up at him and said "Don't touch me!"
He looked in my eyes waiting to see a glimpse of fear so instead I narrowed my eyes and glared at him. Not pulling my gaze away from his. He slowly released my arm out of his tight grip.
He sighed and said "Look, I'm sorry. Can we just start over?"
I looked at him and I could feel my anger building up. When it came to jerks like him I had a short temper, so I snapped. "Get out of my life Michael! I hate you. You are a rude, arrogant, selfish bastard."
It felt good releasing that anger but I regretted it as soon as I saw his hand coming towards my face. I felt a hard slap and I just gasped in pain. Then without permission my hand clenched in a tight fist and I swung a punch at him. I heard a crunch sound and then the sound of him crying out in pain.
I knew I succeeded in my hit and with that I quickly went to the door. I knocked rapidly until Ashley came and opened it. I quickly pushed past her and shut the door. Slamming it shut. She looked really confused once I started locking the doors and shutting all windows. Ashley had a big house, not like mine. So there were many things to close.
Ashley just looked at me with a worried expression and said "Mia, what's wrong? Why are you acting like a crazy person?"
I didn't stop shutting and closing everything and anything I could find that would let Michael come in.
"Michael." I said
Without another word she went and locked the back door. She sighed and said "okay if you don't tell Brodie or someone, anyone about this, I will! First your dad and then Michael. I won't let my best friend get hurt any longer. So please Mia, please tell someone. I'll be there with you if you want."
I nodded in agreement and said "Yeah okay fine, but not right now."
She smiled a bit and I could tell she was trying to make the mood around us to be calmer.
"Alright, well I say we go watch some movies!" she said happily.
I nodded in agreement and smiled.
Jackson's POV:
"Bro lets order pizza." I said cheerfully.
He smiled and said "What's got you in such a good mood?"
The truth is that, once I saw Mia things started looking up for me, I got a 'date' with some chick I forgot her name but yes, I finally get to date her. As for Mia, she was well. Perfect. She was hot, with a great body and I even saw her drive away. Okay that's a bit stalkerish. Wait, what am i thinking? I shook my head to get her out of my head but something wasn't right. Maybe it was when I saw her face all bruised and some small cuts. I had a feeling that wasn't because of the so called 'accident.' The more I thought about it, the more I grew suspicious. What if someone hurt her? What if it was a guy? What if it was her dad? I mean Brodie told me how shit of a father he was to them but then why would she stay with him? What if it was her dad's friend? Or even friends? No. No jackson! What's wrong with you? This is her father you're talking about here.
Brodie was waving his hand in my face. When did he start doing that? "Hello... Anyone home?" he laughed, it was just us in Brodie's room, so I decided to ask about his dad.
"Brodie, why did your dad and mum get divorced?" I don't exactly know the feeling of having your parents split up because mine were still together.
He looked taken aback at my question but he just turned off the game and turned to me.
"Well, my mum and dad would always argue. So I guess they got sick of it. But dad acted weird sometimes and I never understood what was happening half the time."
"So how come you left with your mum and your sister stayed with her dad?" I asked, still confused.
"What's with the sudden interest Jacks?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Curiosity." I stated flatly
"Mum asked us both what we wanted, I hate my dad for the misery he put mum through, and the misery he put me and Mia through." He sighed and said "At first Mia said she wanted to come with us. But that changed after my dad talked to her. She came back to the room and said she changed her mind and wanted to stay."
"Brodie don't you find it weird that she was willing to go with you but after her dad had a 'chat' with her she just magically changed her mind? And besides she wears a helmet when she rides. How come her body is fine, just her face is ruined? And that's the thing she covers best because of the helmet."
"I don't know man, if something was up Mia would tell me. It has been years since me and mum left and she seems fine."
"Maybe she's trying to protect you?" I mean it makes sense if she did. She seems like that kind of girl. Damn it. Snap out of Jacks. She's Brodie's sister and I don't even know her. Why should I care? It wasn't until a few minutes past I realised Brodie never said anything. I shook his arm and said "Hey buddy, you still here?" When all us guys are alone we're always close and cool to talk about anything but as soon as there's girls around it's like we always switch and we all just act a little different. I guess it's because they force us to play a stereotype and we just go with it. Less of a headache that way.
He shook his head and said "Yeah, don't worry. If Mia is in trouble like you say she is then she will tell me."
I got annoyed but I shrugged it off. We all knew when to stop.
