"No. Absolutely not. A million times no." Aria shook her head repeatedly, arms crossed over her chest as she sat, criss-cross, on the sand.
"Why not? Give me three solid reasons why and i'll back off." JJ shot back at her, a grin tugging at his lips at the sight of her instant defiance on the subject.
Aria turned her head away from JJ, who sat on the sat opposite her in a pair of swim trunks. She watched Kie and Pope in the water, floating about, doing this and that. She didn't really know what people did when they swam.
The girl sat in on of Kiara's bikini's, a dull pink colour, with an oversized t-shirt over the top. Ironic seen as she couldn't even swim, though Kiara had insisted she at least get changed.
Only JJ knew about her lack of swimming skill, and she intended to keep it that way. In fact, if she had the option to go back to that night when she'd told him, she wouldn't.
It was embarrassing, such a basic thing everyone was expected to have the ability to do, and she couldn't do it.
She turned her head back towards him, fighting back her own signature smirk. "Number one; I don't want to. Number two; I don't want to. And finally.. I don't want to."
"Oh come on sunshine! It won't be that bad." He whined, laying back down on the sand.
"I very much doubt that." She responded. "I left school a long time ago, why would i ever want to go back?" She asked rhetorically.
"Well why did you leave in the first place?" JJ turned his head towards the brunette from his position in the sand.
Because my father didn't want anyone to see what he'd done to me.
Aria paused, swallowing her nerves. "Because i wanted to."
JJ sat up slowly, sensing her change of tone. The girl continued to look straight ahead at the water where Kie and Pope waded, unbothered of anything around them.
"Hey." He moved his body so he was in front of her gaze. "Did i say something? If i did i-"
"No don't be silly." She laughed it off, shaking her head repeatedly.
His expression relaxed slightly, though it was clear to see his concern hadn't faded.
"Why do you want me to go so bad?" She question, changing the subject to distract him from his worry.
He tilted his head. "We're all going back, Kie's making us."
"She hasn't said anything to me about it.." Aria spoke softly, doubt filling her mind.
JJ reached out, tucking a loose piece of hair from in front of her eyes around her ear, his hand remaining on her skin a splinter of a second longer than needed.
"She didn't want to make you feel pressured to come if you didn't want to. Your still fresh meat to all of us."
Aria raised an amused eyebrow at his comment. "Oh really? Fresh meat?" She smirked. "And you don't seem to have a problem with me feeling pressured to come?"
"Oh no not at all, your coming." He gasped at her. "Whether it's walking in like a normal person or kicking and screaming over my shoulder, that part's up to you darling."
Darling.
That's a new one.
Heat rose up to her cheeks and she ducked her head against her shoulder to hide her reddened cheeks. Thankfully, JJ pretended not to notice, only continued to smirk at himself like he was the smartest person alive.
